Fiance got a call from Embassy. They will forward her P3 packet thru email. So far, so good. Going according to plan (first time in the whole K-1 Process lol)
@Greenbaum i'll send it to you later this week so you'd have it on file for next people who will go thru Vilnius, Lithuania.

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well!

I am using a immigration services office, who has helped me with preparing and submitting my

I-129F.  And they will continue to help me until my fiancee goes to her interview and hopefully gets

a K-1 visa.

Now that my petition has been approved, I emailed their office and asked them what the next steps

will be and what documents I have to have.

They told me that the NVC will send me a mail/email telling me to pay $120 for the Affidavit of Support

fee.  And I would need to submit my 2017 tax return, W2, and 2 latest paycheck stubs.  They also told

me that I will have to pay $325 for my fiancee's (beneficiary) visa interviewing fee.

I was wondering if this is also what your understanding is for the NVC phase?

Thank You and Best Wishes,

Chris

Chris, that is totally wrong. The information that they provided is for a CR-1/1-IR which is for a married couple processing their visa. Totally different animal from the K-1. NVC does not send you anything but the case number, that's all their roll is in this process. Your Embassy will send you the necessary documents and instructions. But since I hate when these "services" (dis-service) give you wrong instructions that can cause confusion and or delays not to mention the possibility of a denial I will give you the information for your country and what will be needed.

Once you get your case number then go over to ceac.state.gov and enter your information using "immigrant" as your visa type (you are really a non-immigrant but it's to much detail to explain. That website will tell you whether your case is in "transit, received or ready) at your Embassy. From this point forward your Embassy will have control of your record and any correspondence or inquiry's should be directed to them.

I emailed my embassy ( Madrid) asking if I could schedule an appointment (knowing I need P4 for that). They apparently emailed me the P3 but there was nothing attached. I wonder if I can just follow another P3 instructions. 🤔

This is what they told me.

Your embassy is one of the few who require that you send all your documents from the P3 so that then can review and annotate any areas of problems that may need your attention before your interview. Larger Embassy's do not have that luxury and if there is something that needs attention those embassies will issue a 221(g). Causing a delay on the back end. At lease with your embassy you can go to the interview with a clear mind that there shouldn't be any problems and you will walk out with an approval.

Email them back for a copy to ensure you are using their current issue. I am gong to give you a like to the copy I have which isn't but a few months "old" so I don't expect any deviation from theirs to mine. Good luck.

Spain requires the embassy send the packet 3 which allows the beneficiary to schedule and attend the medical and needs to be brought to the medical appointment, and in order to book the interview Spain requires packet 4. I have not verified this but this information came from someone who processed recently.

Do we have to pay any fee to the NVC? I was reading something here about having to pay for

I don’t think so. I read the instructions to fill the form https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-134instr.pdf

and it says there is no filing fee.

If you are a K-1 visa applicant then you are considered a "immigrant" till you complete the interview then your case reverts to "non-immigrant" status which requires a DS-160 with NO FEE. Ignore the DS-260 information and or the FEE because that is wrong information. The DS-260 is used by the CR-/IR-1 married visa which requires the completion of that form and they are considered "immigrant" throughout their process unlike the K-1. I know it's strange. Let me explain it this way.

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links (what you received in the email) will send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 and DS-260 even though it truly is a non-immigrant visa requiring I-134 and the DS-160. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

Application was approved on October 15. Still waiting. Anyone else still waiting from around that time or before?

NOA2 11th Oct.  20 days seems more like the average wait.  Its higher than the 2 wks guidance, but then the NOA2 average is no 7mos,  guidance has increased.

Expecting to have progress this week.

first met late 2016, met 13 more times since. Filed i-129 Apr 14th. NOA2 dated Oct 11th.

Hi Mr. Greenbaum,

Thank you for all of your help.

For K-1 visa, I fill out a i-134 Form and give it to my fiancee (beneficiary) so she

can bring it with her to her embassy interview.

Is this correct?

Thank You and Best Wishes,

Chris

The I-134 and any supporting evidence is presented by the applicant at the time of the Visa interview, if requested

YMMV

She'll need the I-134 and the following:

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript
