Yes but give till tomorrow.

That's not necessarily true. They do quickly turn the case around as far as assigning case number. But overall they only ship twice a month typically. Every other week the shipments leave NVC for the Embassies. The latest shipments left this week so it's two more weeks before they will leave NVC again.

How to use that dhl tracking then? Is that for the expected arrival in our embassy?

Yes. Just another tool to follow your case while it is in transit to your Embassy. You'll know when it arrives and you'll give a few days and then check ceac and it should be set to ready. Follow the instructions that I posted to use the DHL tacking.

Because they are applying under a CR-1/IR-1 visa category and you are under a K=1. Entirely two different animals. K-1's do not upload any documents at any time to NVC. Best to just ignore that thread as it can lead to confusion.

Ok, thank you, I didn't notice the OP was not doing K1.

On a side note, do you know if at the interview, a petitioner's original divorce documents or any other originals will be required?  Certified copies of these documents were included in our petition of course.  I want to be at the interview with him, but I'm not sure if I can yet, otherwise, I would have to FedEx them to him.  I know his documents must be originals and certified.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I (beneficiary) received an e-mail from NVC stating:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: NPL**********  filed by ****** ********** on behalf of *******  ***********.  The NVC completed its processing of this visa petition, and forwarded it to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in NAPLES ITALY.

We forwarded your immigrant visa petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate on 30-OCT-2018.

My question is: can I schedule the interview or do I have to wait for the consulate to contact me?

This will depend to your interviewing embassy. Have you able to talk to someone going through the same embassy as yours? S/He might help you.

Still no case received for us yet (NOA2 October 5th) as of 7am this morning when I called but I’m pleased to see some progress. It appears things might have started moving again for early October approvals.

I think we might see a few more cases received with case numbers coming close behind today and through this week so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for us and everyone around us in the same position! 🙏☺️

Then leave the dates at 10/30
Skip the account number or whatever

1. How do I update my email address with NVC  Once you receive your NOA2 approval then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned and when the file leaves for your Embassy.

I'm looking for clarification on this step to take.

The link takes you to the Ask NCV page,  does completing this form and including the beneficiary's email in the question box update your email with the NVC?

If so, how reliable is the email service to update you on your case?

Thanks!

Yes, you use that form to update your email. It's like a heads up for NVC, you telling them "hey i know you got my case, not sure if you've got correct email, here it is".

Fill out that ASK NVC form, and tell them that Your case should be forwarded to NVC soon, and You'd like to update your email.

When I received email of NOA2 approval, I followed advice here to go to NVC site and input email address. On Monday this week, I called NVC to ask a simple question about whether need hard copy of NVC letter for embassy interview or not (which I was informed did not need). So this morning I receive this email below 👇

I didn’t provide my email address when talk to the NVC on phone...I only gave them the WAC number....so surprised when I got this email this morning...at least it confirms that when I went to input my email address that they have it and will know when they receive my file 🙂
