Thanks @Greenbaum !! I don't see much information on the site about Packet 3 and just went to the embassy website. We finally filed the DS160. Do you remember if you paid the fee now or when it reaches the Embassy? One person said that it is too premature to pay the fee and that it is only done-so when the embassy receives your case.

I'd wait until it reaches the embassy to pay. This way it assures the case got there and it avoids any mix ups with the payment. If you submit a payment they have nothing to match it with. We all can understand your eagerness, but submitting the payment early won't necessarily move anything faster. Just take a deep breath and keep busy. The case should arrive soon.

Advice: KEEP BUSY!!

FYI - Also the ds160 I believe is only good for 30 days unless you download it and then re-upload it again. If the 30 days pass and your case still isn't with the embassy, you'll need to complete the entire thing again.

*if you have your case number don't forget to update your timeline*

The Philippines Embassy in my experience is one of the easiest Embassy to process through. Over the years we were able to find work arounds to move the process forward at lightning speeds. Last couple who used our "hacks" was able from case number assignment to approval was done in 22 days. I believe that all Embassy's are beginning to cut down on these hacks and now are requiring that you must wait for your case to be set to ready before paying the interview fee, scheduling the interview, completing the medical, and submitting the DS-160. Some embassies are even going as far as requiring you to return your complete interview package from the P3 before they'll set your record to ready.

I hope this bit of information is educational and helpful.

@Greenbaum That's a crazy good turnaround time--I did hear that the PH has the most cases received than any other country so I'm sure that they know what they're doing by now and are experts at this point, as are you :) thank you!

Ok. I know this question probably been asked before but is it required to bring the NVC approval letter with you to the embassy interview?

Reposting this one ☝️ thank you 🙏

just answering my own question in case anyone else was wondering but after waiting 30 minutes on hold with NVC, they said you do not need NVC letter for interview and not worry about it because they also email the letter as well...just need case number to complete the DS 160

-Cheers 🙂

Yes @Meu Amor I think it is a glitch--it keeps telling me that the date needs to be after my previous ones...but it is! i tried entering it every combo possible but still nothing. anyways, good to know that 'ready' is what we need to look out for! Super exciting for everyone in this phase right now!

Is there an NVC site where we can check our status once we have a case number from them? Kind of like how USCIS? If yes, could you send me a link.
