NOA 2 date - October 11th

Just called NVC - they don’t have the file yet.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

I just tracked my case in the website. And it appears this.

Who has to take these steps my fiance ( petioner) or me ( beneficiary)? I’m confused now. I thought he was already done doing the paperwork and it was my turn now 🤔🤦🏽‍♀️

Thanks

This is for a CR-1 visa and you are a K-1 petitioner so ignore it. The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links (what you received in the email) will send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 and DS-260 even though it truly is a non-immigrant visa requiring I-134 and the DS-160. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent. Continue to work with your Embassy and within the country to complete what is required.

Many travel under the same circumstances you are anticipating with no problems. Just be sure to take some extra documentation to show that you will be returning.

1. Embassy appointment letter

2. Lease on your flat

3. If your job knows you are going to be away have them give you a letter that they are expecting you to return on such and such a date.

4. Anything else you can think of that ties you back to the UK

I just had (another) thought. If I fill in the DS-160 before my visit to the US, will I need to edit it when I get back? It asks about previous visits to the US, so there will be one more after I've filled it out but before the interview. I wanted to submit it prior to the trip so that I can get my interview booked in.

Don’t submit it yet. So that you can still edit it after your visit..

When you return from your trip and you are at your interview then you can offer the trip information to the CO. If the CO wants the information then you can share it with them at that time. The DS-160 is always getting changed by others with their CO's so it will not be a big deal.

That depends to your country’s us embassy. But most embassies they will be needing your ds160 before you’ll be given your interview schedule. Just weigh things. Do what’s beneficial for your paper. Take your time to fill it out after your visit and schedule your interview.

The interview question ask @BJ & Christine as they are knowledgeable on what needs to be done prior to the interview for the United K. Yes prior to the interview is the requirement the day before if you want unless of course it needs to be completed before you book your interview and that will be answered shortly.

Most do not require the DS-160 to book the interview. I have only seen a few, maybe two require the DS-160 be submitted before the Embassy will allow the applicant to schedule the interview..
