Thank you sir! This will be a BIG help for us. But I have a concern, we live here in CA now and we just got married soon after my arrival here in MS, 1/9 - arrival and 1/12 - wedding. We already have our marriage cert on hand, but what concerns me is that some filers get rejected by applying SSN after marriage if without EAD.  We're planning to apply AOS maybe before or after this month. What do you think we should do? or any recommendations we should follow.

Well the information is in the post I made to you. You follow those directions and you should have no problems be sure to print out the SS regs page so that you can prove that you are eligible to get a SSN.

Alright then I'll just have to follow that. Thank you so much.

Can I just print 6 pages of that SSregs? Or need to be complete?

@greenbaum

ok doki. thanks sir

UPDATE: After reviewing everything I recommend that you go in and get an SSN under your single name to avoid any hassle. There is a good possibility that they may turn you away if married until your EAD is issued. SS is not like the visa process. You're not going to get deported if you're telling a little white lie. A month or so down the road after you have gotten your SSN you may return and have issued in your married name. We always recommend that you have your SSN in your single name, get married and then return to update the SSN with the new married name.

This might be a dumb questions, but if the beneficiary is a man I am assuming there’s no issue with getting married first and then applying for SSN right after?

I’m the unluckiest person alive...

i had my interview today and I am approved but they had a system glitch and couldn’t verify my fingerprints with the oath.

i need to wait now until they fix this and then I have to come back but they couldn’t tell me how long this is gonna take.

Embassy in Frankfurt (4 hour drive from where I live)

Omg what the heck!?! I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. It’s how I felt when we got an RFE for something we included in our original application! But things seem to be moving fast now in Frankfurt. My fiancé had his interview last Thursday and already got his passport back yesterday with visa enclosed. So I’m confident you’ll be back in the USA in a few weeks!! Hopefully you had a good Christmas/new year with your fiancé in the states?!

I know I’m devasted. I have been crying multiple times over the day now because it puts me down so much. We just got our puppy and i expected to be back in about two weeks, and now this stuff happened. It wouldn’t be a problem if I knew an exact timeframe but this could end up taking forever since they didn’t know what the problem was...

and yeah I already checked the day when you guys had the interview and was excited for you. At least you guys got it done after that rfe

And yes my Christmas and New Years was nice to spend with him and I’m very thankful that this was possible.

Maybe im freaking out too much, and all of this will solve next week but right now I just don’t know what to feel since it’s not a problem on my end and there’s no way for me to fix it...

I’m so sorry!! But don’t cry too much. My guess is it takes a day or two. Email them if you don’t hear. I bet it goes fast!!

That's what I'm talking about, what if they ask us if we already get married? Of course we're not gonna lie. Hmmmm.

This is so awful.

I got an response from the embassy and they told me that the issues have been fixed and i should schedule a new interviewappointment. But I can’t schedule an appointment without paying the 265 fee again... that’s a joke honestly. Instantly replied to the email, nothing. Can’t even call them.
