NVC returned our case to USCIS. USCIS doesnt have any information in there system yet since it was returned last week and NVC didnt tell me why. No idea what to do or what to think...

Usually it is some sort of housekeeping error made by the uscis,  most clear within a couple weeks and get returned back

Hi everyone!

Today we received an E Mail from the NVC after sending an E Mail enquiry and I now have my LDN case number and invoice number.  YAY!

I have logged on to the CEAC website and it says 'AT NVC'. So a couple of questions:

  • Can I now complete my DS160? I have completed 90% of it online already and it is saved ready to do the last bit.
  • Does anyone know when the next batch is being sent out to the London embassy?
  • At what point can I telephone the Knightsbridge Medical place and book my medical for January?
  • At what point can I book my actual embassy interview.

One last thing, for some reason the NVC have an incorrect spelling of my fiance's surname. I have E mailed them asking them to correct it, so that it matches everything else. Should we do anything else for this?

Thanks in advance.

I got email from the NVC last night saying the petition was being forwarded to the consulate.  In the attached PDF, it showed my (petitioner) name correctly, but mangled as: LASTFIRSTLASTMIDDLE MIDDLE LAST

I called the NVC, but was told there was nothing they could really do since they'd already forwarded it to the consulate.  They also said I shouldn't worry too much, because it wasn't the petitioner's name that was mangled.  They said I could try emailing the consulate, or my fiancée could bring a copy of my passport to show them.

I'm hoping it's not an issue.  It appears correctly on the I-129F.

I may be changing my name.  Ha!

NOA2 is correct. It is only NVC that have misspelt it.

I think you will find everything you will need to complete your interview in the UK by using the information below. Be sure to visit the UK sub-forum (links are below) to ask any questions. There are many that are in the midst of the interview preparation or they have completed and can help you.  It's not a good idea to take advice from someone from Germany who "thinks" that this what you do. You want the meat and potatoes of what is needed which I have provided.

Concerning the naming errors some of you are experiencing. Do not worry about what your NVC letter or even your NOA2 says. It all can be fixed at the interview with the CO and I doubt that it is wrong once they look at your case on their computer. The main thing is that you continue using the proper spelling on all your documents especially the DS-160. There is no need to call USCIS/NVC/FBI/Your Mother - none, nadda, zero, zip.

I think @amy1411 meant to say actually the whole new year. She didnt mean New Years(eve). When I first read her comment I thought like damn she has her hopes up but she is not making it lol but when she replied I understood she meant 2019.

Hey it depends of the embassy, in my case never receive PACKET3, they only gave a link for the paperwork that I should present to teh interview. But I read that some embassies need packet 3.

ill look for your embassy if I can help you :)

For example in my case I dont have to mail anything to the embassy, the paperwork we need to present in the interview. The only documentation that I should do before the interview is filliing out DS160 (take the letter confirmation) and schedule my medical exam by showing my letter fo confirmation of interview

I read that for other countries is different, as I say this is so relative. If i can find any information I'll help you its China right?

This is the same for our country too, Dominican Republic
