Packet 3 is instructions for collecting all the paperwork you need; you reply to that to say "ok, I have the paperwork". Packet 4 is telling you to make an appointment for the interview.

Hey guys!

Quick Q: how long is D-160 valid for?

Also, what’s the difference between P3 and 4? Or what’s P4?

'Packet 3' and 'Packet 4' are informal names for the communications between the embassy/consulate and the beneficiary, which are usually email now I think. Some consulates don't have a 'packet 4'.

Hi all,

My Fiancee and i have now got our case number from the NVC but it has yet to be forwarded to the consulate here in germany. Should i go ahead with registering and paying the fee on the ustraveldocs site now or should i wait until i have packet 3 in hand and I've sent off the documents (I134 etc) in the post?

thanks!

Woohoo!!!

Got our NVC case number today!

They had recieved it on the 12th of November.

And learned today, 11/21/18, the assigned case number!

9 days wait total from the 8 weeks standard answer they were giving.

The person now said there is administrative stuff that needs to be done with the case and told me to call back every few days to check to see it was sent to the London Embassy.

Everyday getting closer to finally being with the woman of my dreams...

I have a similar question. Can you file DS-160 and Schedule interview after getting Case number? or wait till the Case says Ready. Considering the shipment to consulate will happen next, should we schedule interview? Any info is appreciated.

Depends on the Embassy for scheduling the interview. Here are some links and maybe they will contain the answer to your question. You can complete the DS-160.

No need to call back to check on the shipping information. Cases are now going in batches every other week. Next shipments are 11/27and28. To check your case status go to ceac.state.gov and select "immigrant" and enter your case number. You'll see your status as Transit, Received or Ready.

Whoooooa there Hombres. I know your excited and anxious to get to the next step but let's not make a mistake on the way. I will give you the P3 and other information for Germany. If you have questions on the process please don't ask them here, ask over in the Germany regional forum;; link is below.

https://de.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/21/Instructions-for-IV-and-K-Visa-Applicants-1.pdf

Visa Payment System information:

There is indeed a cash pay option but i wanted to do it online so i clicked on the "provide feedback" option and explained my situation and they said to wait 24 hours as well! Here is what they said about the cards: "In addition, please note that our payment gateway is set-up to process the following branded cards:

1. VISA Debit

2. VISA Electron

3. MasterCard Debit

4. Maestro

Just because a card is branded with VISA/MasterCard does not automatically mean it is a debit card. Many of the refusals we have seen are V/MC branded Credit Cards which we never accept.

In addition, there are a number of domestic debit card schemes that are available in the region. Each of these card schemes must have the following features to be accepted online:

1. Co-branded with VISA/MasterCard(Maestro) – i.e. they must have one of these logos on the card.

2. Contain a CVV number (this is the three digit number on the back of the card).

If they do not have both these features, they will not be accepted. "

Hi, Greenbaum, Thank you ever so much for the Instruction for UK. I will be calling up for Medical appointment tomorrow! 🙂

It is much appreciated if you could kindly give me advice, please.

I am planning to visit my fiancé in U.S  from 8th - 27th December. I am hoping to get Medical done prior to this trip or book it in early January and also hoping to get

interview booked in later January too.

Regarding DS-160, Is it okay to fill the form after this trip as there is a question of when I visited U.S. Would it be still okay to book an interview without filling DS-160?

I actually tried to fill in but I realised I should do after this trip, then this form I started (not completed/just saved) will be invalid after 30days? Can I create new one after?

In case of  passport control, a copy of NOA2, a proof of my current employee (HR signed letter with company headed paper dated on 3rd DEC), the copy of land registry (to show that I own a house in U.K) are going to be good enough?
