Started classes on Monday and still waiting for my SSN for back ground check. Are you back to Boston?

Hey @Abies good to see you message.Well these days I am kinda busy with day to day life..it is 3weeks now but I didn't get SSN.so I went to the local SSN office yesterday and filled up the application and they said they gonna mail the card to me in 3-5days.Gc has not been produced yet.It just shows that they have received my payments.. That's all.Best of luck for your upcoming classes.What about your GC?

Ok good to know you have gone to apply manually for the SSN. We will be going back to the SSA office next week Friday for the SSN. My GC has been produced and waiting to receive it in the mail anytime soon.

That's good news..I don't know when they gonna produce my GC.God knows.It's being one month my husband paid the fees and still it's showing that they have received the fees.No other changes in the status I can see.Waiting for it.And you too just go to the SSN office and get it done.becoz that is really important in order to go on with other staffs.Everyone is asking for Social security like in bank, health insurance and all.

@Abies Sorry to here you guys are still waiting on ss card.  Thats why I was kinda confuse when you guys said they were automatically going to mail it to you in 3wks.  Usually when you get here you go to the social security office with your passport to apply for the card, and they will mail it to you.  That has always been the process.  But since things are changing now, I dont know the instructions that was given to you.  But I think you should go with your hubby to the ss office to apply for the card.  Just an advice 🙂

Yes thank u so much for the advice.Actually I was waiting to get it done automatically as I clicked yes to the option on ds-260.But that didn't happen for me and @Abies so it will be kinda waste of time to wait for them to send us the SSN .I waited for 3weeks at last I went yesterday to the office directly and got it done.they said I will get the card in 3-5business days. @Abies said she will also go next week and get it done. @Possible18 did u get your GC and SSN yet?

Classes have started. Will not be able to go the SSA office except on fridays because there are no classes on fridays. We will be doing that next week Friday so we can also go to the DMV for to apply for state ID with my green card

This might not be your case since marking on the Ds-260 has about a 50% ish for the ssc to get to you. 

 

But... Have you made sure your name is on the mail box? After I got married and I went into the office to update my name. After not receiving my card, I was waiting over a month, I called the hotline they told me it was sent with in 7 days of my visit but then it was sent back to the apartment because my name wasn't on the mail box. This happened to my drivers license after I got divorce for the 1st time and hopefully only time. Sad part is I get mail from my old married name still and that name is not registered on the mail box.

P:S ; Oh @Abies I think you should go to SSA and register for your SSN because if you waited 10days and didn’t get it just go to their office and register for the social security,and go back next day to collect your ssn and wait for them to mail the card to you in the next 10days,I went there today and they check and couldn’t find my details in their system it seems that DHS mostly don’t send request to ssa for new immigrants SSN registration,the guy who attended to me said it was a great ideal i came in to reapply,so go to SSA and get your registration done it’s not going to take you 20mins you’re done,because waiting for DHS to send SSA your application for ssn could take forever....

So am going back tomorrow to collect my number because it’s take 24hrs for the number to be available

My hubby is still waiting for an interview date.  We’ve been waiting for 2 months now.  I don’t know what’s going on with Lagos embassy😒

@Possible18 any updates from Lagos Consulate,have you tried calling them to see if they've started scheduling interviews for november,because when i was so curious when i was in ur situation i emailed them

Just a heads up, you need your social security to do EVERYTHING in this country.  So they wont give you an ID without your ss card.  Just so you save yourself a trip.

I’ve emailed Lagos and NVC, they are not telling me anything.  I called NVC today, they said they are scheduling for November now, but still no interview date for me.  I just wish someone can look at our case.

 

what did you ask in your email?  Maybe that can help me.

what did you ask in your email?  Maybe that can help me.

i would like to inquire if they're any slot available for my case number xxxxx,name of pet,name of benificiary and i gave them the date of my cc and they replied me in 5days later a week and some days later nvc gave me an interview slot
