OMG!! Did this happen to anyone before? We had an interview scheduled for next week but we received an email from the embassy saying that “due to reasons beyond our control we will postpone the interview to November.” Why????? Is this common? What’s happening?

Oh no!!! Our interview is in Santiago at the end of November and I'm trying to see if they could move it earlier instead. This doesn't look good for me!

Update your timeline! There aren't a ton of Chile people on here, it's helpful to have more data!

Good luck...

So are you from Santiago too?

My timeline off top of my head is like:

9/16/2017 —> I130

4/20/2018 —> NOA2 (Nebraska)

9/4/2018 —> CC

10/12/2018 —> interview but now postponed additional 5 weeks...

No, your timeline is like an actual feature on VJ that lets people see your process and helps other people estimate how long it will take. Here is mine. https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=263748

Yes! I’ll get to it later after work.

So, on your interview letter, did they say to bring all the documents? Like affidavits and so forth? Because mine only said to bring physical, vaccine, and original civil documents (passport, marriage certificate, etc).

Hello My fellow Nigerians here I have someone  that went for interview yesterday he said no appointment till Next year Feb,he  went for non immigrant visa I don't know if it is also applicable for immigrant visa applicant,I pray this information is for non immigrants visa applicant alone.

I’ve heard that too but it’s only for Non immigrant visas, due to the emabassy reaching their quote for the year ( number of NIV they are suppose to give for that year).  Good thing is we are IR1 / CR1 visa applicants.

It has no effect on Immigrant Visa applicants.

Our letter said to bring every document that we had submitted to NVC, plus the medical, obviously. I'm just sending my husband with a packet of everything we have plus copies of each document. There are some reviews of the Santiago consulate that say they don't spend too much time looking at what you bring unless they're requesting a specific document like an updated tax return or something. I'd rather have too much than too little.

I hope you can get an earlier interview date and I truly hope what happened to us doesn’t happen to you. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. It’s such an awful feeling. It was so close and now so far again. 13 months and counting, and with the new interview date on November makes 14+ months since our I130 application. So sad and depressing.

If you look at the spreadsheet posted on the very first page of this thread (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xbLl_8yDgHLeDaLnTrPdYc44J0sjPSFfYCKxlKx6uTY/edit#gid=0), you can study people's dates and see that most people get their interview notice within 1 to 3 weeks of case complete... I don't see anyone else from Armenia on there, though, so you'll just have to hope yours will come soon.
