Had the interview today. Although I was a nervous wreck before, trying to get everything assembled the last minute (my interview was moved up 1 day so I had 5h to get everything done, but to be fair they did offer also Friday but I preferred day early rather than day late). Interview was great, the people were really nice. Most of the documents I had prepared, I didn't even need to show (did not ask for any pictures, chat logs, travels that we have done etc).

Questions asked:

  • Tell me about your husband
  • When did you get married?
  • What are you going to do in USA?
  • What will you do in summer? (My first job is seasonal)
  • When do you plan to travel to USA?
  • Where does his mom get her income? (we used my MIL as a jointed sponsor)

That was pretty much it. They kept my passport but I won't get it back before I figure out what happened with my New Zealand police certificate. They were supposed to send it straight to the embassy but well - it did not happen. Overall very nice experience. Took like 40 minutes and thats because I got there early.

did they tell u u got approved

and im glad it went good for u

They said that just will need to get the NZ police certificate. I honestly can't remember the word "approved" (probably because I was still nervous :D ) but jointed sponsor was all good and he said that the police certificate is only thing they need.

I'll have my CR1 interview next week. All my documents are ready. On this side there is no problem but I'm hyper-stressed yes stressed.
For those who have already had their interview, how do you handle stress? because the closer it gets, the more stressed I am.
Your advice will be welcome and already I say thank you.

Hello there! May I know your i130 timeline? My husband filed i130 for ky daughter iR2 I guess bc we are 2 years more married. We file last march 2,2018 approved sept 26 now still waiting for nvc email. How long does it take yours?

I had my husband as a sponsor first but as he didn't qualify, I had also prepped documents for the join sponsor (husband's mother). He just asked what is her income and that was it. No more questions about joint sponsor. Just him saying that this will be enough.

For joint sponsor I took I-864A (my husband had filled out I-864), W2 and last tax declaration.

Stay Strong....when you are finally reunited this will all feel like a distant memory ❤️ I havent seen my husband in over a year as well and can relate to how you must be feeling. If ever you need someone to listen...message me.

Thank you for the encouraging words.  This process is very draining 😒

Omg! 3 good months! On the average, I don't think Lagos has been this frustrating, although have read of a few cases with a 4 month waiting period. Again, from CC to Interview mostly fall within 90 days. Just my observations, I stand to be corrected.  So, let's keep our hope alive that the next 1 week will not elude us. Let's all remain strong please! Abi, how do we encourage ourselves again??? I guess we are all tired of calling and hearing the same stories. It's well!

I’m tired of calling and hearing the same story...so I’ve decided to wait for NVC to suprise me 🙂.  From timelines of others it  use to be within a month from cc, you get an interview day.  But I don’t know why everything slowed down after August.

I feel u sis...we r in the same situation....I'm so confused with all this...

In the main time I’m just occuping myself with work, so that I wont get too frautrated.  But they have no choice but to give us an interview date, so lets just continue to wait 🤷🏾‍♀️
