I know but for some reason I feel like they work kinda together, because I see a lot of people getting their EAD approved and at the same time (or almost at the same time) their AOS gets an update to “interview ready to be schedule” or “interview scheduled”

Could be because your LFO schedules interviews in 4.5 to 6.5 months (which is the timeline for EAD/AP).

They are definitely not related though.

I thought the NBC would initially process the AOS cases and then send it to your local office

Yes that's true but the wait time for an AOS interview is dependent on your LFO. If Detroit has a wait time of 4.5 to 6.5 months then of course it may SEEM like they are related because that is the same processing time for EAD/AP. That is not the case for all LFOs.

That makes sense. Thank you

I'm in Maryland too, and my received date is Oct 19 as well!

Mine changed yesterday to ready for interview does that mean we go for interview first then get the combo ??

Got text, email and case tracker app notification saying my case is ready to be scheduled for interview. Here goes the 2yr wait!!!

Hopefully with this though... maybe my combo card is on it's way...

Nope, depends what happens first. If your interview is soon and you get approved for your Greencard then your AP/EAD card application is auto null and void, because you won't need it!

But like where I can see other cases approved? When someone is writing “Before our case number just got approved” so where do they check those? Or they just random numbers on the case check status!? 😁

Yup, exactly. You can write your number in and change the last 2 or 3 numbers.. i.e. my # is MSC1990025580 and I will try MSC1990025570 .... But there are so many other factors at play and some before mine are still in 'case rec'd' but then some after mine are completed.... sooooo, it's just a rough idea.. nothing concrete.  As well, you can utilize the trackers on this forum as well as ***removed*** https://www.***removed***/tracker/ead-tracker

No. EAD and AOS are separate. Some people get their green card first, and don't even get EAD because you don't need it once you have a green card, but it can sit at that status for months.

I use a few different places to track mine, but if you want to track case numbers close to yours, use the case tracker app. Go to search at the bottoms, and type in a case number that’s like 20 below your number, and search however many you want (I search 50) and you can see what their status is too.

No. If your Local Field Office is one that processes AOS fast, you may not get an EAD/AP Combo Card at all. The process is seperate. You wont need a Combo Card if you get a GC. The Combo Card would just not finish processing if you were approved for your GC first.
