CIS timeline ?

go to VJ home click immigration timeline then search aos timeline and there is an option where you can search a member timeline in your local field office/USCIS.

i think what i said above is confusing 😅✌️

it just gave me an idea how long does it takes from biometric to interview appointment but we all know that every cases are different...

Hi

I have questions on i-765 form.

I have SSN from when I was a college student ( I lost a card but know the number). Today I went to SSA and requested for replacement card.

They said it will take 4 weeks to issue one.

Should I still say Yes to Q14 where it  says "do you want SSA to send you  the SS card?"

Thank you

Yes, because you will want them to issue a second replacement in your married name because you applied for I765 in your new married name, right? If you say yes it will save you the trip from having to go to SSA and do the name change and wait for it. They will just send you the new SS card if you say yes.

From my understanding, if you select yes, then you will have to wait a Long time before you get your ssn.

And if you want to use your ssn to apply for drivier license or renew it, or in other circumstances to use your physical ssn card, you will have trouble.

just spend sometime at SSA to get your SSN replaced. You will find it more convenient.

Most cases I've read about, the new updated SSN comes within a week of the Combo Card. Not sure where you have received your info but I have never heard it take a long time in the way I suggested.

If you think you are not going to use ssn during the time you are waiting for your combo card, then you can select yes. But I think most ppl may need their ssn.

i am just providing info that is helpful to this person.  If you are not comfortable seeing ppl providing other info which are different as yours, just ignore. Don’t stand up and defend for your answer since you are not always 100% correct.

And ‘long time’ is subjective. I feel the time to get combo card is already ‘Long’. You have the right to think it is short but you don’t get to tell me I must feel it is short.

I already have my SSN in my maiden name and the OP explained that they just applied for their's too. I was explaining why it is helpful to to select "yes" to obtain a replacement SSN card in your married name as 99.999% of the time they will not issue a card in your married name until your Combo Card is approved.

I will refrain from quoting anything you post in future as this isnt the first time you have taken my post the wrong way.

A week is not a long time considering how long we have waited so far. And it's not fair to tell the OP it will take a long time by being ambiguous either.

A week plus the time to get the combo is long. You can never guarantee people do not need SSN during this time period. Without SSN, a lot of things could not be done. And since this person has already got SSN before, it is not difficult to get a replacement card. And if this person thinks 4 weeks are long, actually by selecting yes in that question, it is much longer than 4 weeks when a replacement card could have been sent.

please don’t quote any of my post from now on.

These are just automatic emails, I get the same even for my first application who was rejected more than a month ago. They don't really have any value, to me they just send them so people stop calling USCIS because they don't have updates.
