NOA1: November 14th

Biometrics appt: December 6th

 

Good luck to everyone! Hoping we all receive the EAD and travel visas sooner rather than later! I’ve heard the AOS for the green card is currently taking a minimum of 12 months 😣

I was just reviewing processing times yesterday and saw that the average was starting at 13.5 months ranging to 2 years! Just a question as it relates to that, but when the immigrant receives the EAD, that's typically good for 1 year correct? If the AOS isn't granted before then, the immigrant would then have to go through a process to renew the EAD or extend it without knowing the time frame?

Check the VisaJourney timelines as I think you can get a much better idea of how long it would take from there. Yes people post regularly about having to renew their EAD hopefully they will extend the validity like the did with ROC letters but I have no idea if that is on the table.

Depends on your local office. Raleigh is closer to 3-4 months where as LA is like almost 2 years or something stupid.

It depends on the field office. I'm in a AOS group on Facebook, and some people get their green card within 6 months, while others wait more than a year. Florida seems to be the fastest.

I know right! And every time I see someone in the group getting their green card super fast, it's always Florida!!

Well the good news is it looks like you are looking at less than 3 months most likely in KC.

Not sure if I misread the timeline when filling out. All NOAs for the I-485, I-765 and I-131 say National Benefits Center in Lee’s Summit, MO but that wasn’t an option and the closest to that town was Kansas City which is why I chose that one. However, we live in NJ so I’m not sure if any of the applications are going to be transferred to a local office at some point or if they'll stay at the NBC?

Where did you file your AOS/i765/i131?

485 goes to the local office while the 765 and 131 stay at the NBC. Looks like there are 2 offices in NJ either one is looking at currently around 10 months.

So we all should’ve moved to Florida and then applied? 😂 I much prefer this waiting game over the k1 since my husband is in the same country! What state are you in?
