She arrived July 20th. They ran her through SAVE probably 10 times and every time it came back document mismatch no matter what document they used and the people an SS were less than useless so we finally gave up.

if there is a name mismatch, then she had to go to a cbp deferred inspection office to correct her name in her i94. then everything would have cleared out in the system for everyone. your k1 visa, passport name and i94 has to be there same. you'll need that i94 anyway for the aos packet too. so it's best if it's all fixed. the ssa can't do anything about it but keep checking status... it's only the cbp that can fix that and you have to fix it. it's a quick fix, i did it myself. and everything cleared so quickly. the io wrote my incomplete first name on my i94.

Well see that's the thing everything on the I94 and passport matched exactly so there was nothing to get changed.

if there is a mismatch, there is a mismatch... but not sure where that is. so you just have to be proactive to checking where that is. my first i94 i thought was correct, but then upon checking it's my incomplete name. it has to be the complete name. or check if the k1 visa name, i94 name and passport name match or the entry date. unless you attempted to apply in a married name then it will never have a match too. it has to be the maiden name. then do a change of name on the card later on.  oh well, to bad it didn't work out for you. hope you'll get the ead soon so you/your spouse can be added to bank accounts, get a state id or whatever. i'm learning here in the us the ssn is very vital in any type of process/documents.

Well that is the confusing part because every single piece of information on the I-94 is 100 percent correct and matches with every other piece of paper work we have. Only one first name and one last name ever used. SAVE staff will not talk to the general public and SS claims they will not tell them what the mismatch is so we had nothing to go on in order to get anything fixed. Just me I was very proactive I spent many hours in the office and on the phone with still zero clue as to what the root of the issue is.

I had mismatch although everything was in order. They did the manual check through SAVE which takes 4 weeks. Did they send your case for manual check or did they just said we can't do anything. Cause I got mine after manual check.

This is what happened to me:

1. My Given name on my I94 were input in as "Jane Marie" by the IO at POE. That is incorrect as my name is Jane (first name) Marie (middle name).

2. The SSA agent input my city of birth as "City + first three initials of my country" as that is what is stated in my passport. Obviously that was incorrect and I tried to explain to him what the info on my passport meant to no avail as he said he had to copy the passport info exactly regardless of what was on my SS form that I filled out. I had to sign off on the info as he printed it and state it was true even though I argued it wasnt.

3. There were not enough blanks in the SS "system" for the agent to input my father's complete name so he just left out one letter. Again, not true info but I had to say it was correct.

It's been going on three weeks with no info/no card in the mail. Will be calling next week.

Do they contact you saying everything was verified or you just get the card in the mail?

Today is 3 weeks so I don’t know if I should wait for them to contact me or go to the SSN office again. Which Here in Florida it can take up two hours to be in the line.

You can call them. Their number is on the confirmation letter you received when you applied.

18007721213 is the national number but your field office direct number should be on the letter.

Sent my AOS packet in last Monday, I tracked it and it arrives this Friday. Will probably be notified by next week of reception

It was tough paying that $1200+ fee. 😑

Yep mine was already returned for a while too. Then I got the letter from Maryland (through my local office so the mail doesn’t directly come to you) and the ssn number at the same day.

it was pretty funny as I opened one envelope telling me to wait for 2 weeks and then the next one was the card.
