When I finally receive my Green Card, do they issue me another SSN card without the phrase “Valid For Work Only With DHS Authorization”?

Yes but you will go to SSA and request a replacement due to a change in immigration status.

I am shocked! My updated SSN card (with my married name) arrived today, before my EAD card!! I was most worried about having to wait longer for the SSN card. EAD card will be arriving tomorrow or the next day!! ☺️

Congratulations! Such an unpredictable USCIS. Not only can upset, but also can make a surprise.😀

Additionally, the SSN comes from SSA headquarters in MD which is why you got it so quickly as that is where you are located. The Combo Card will come from Corbin, KY which is futher. In your case it makes sense.

Hurrah!  Interview was scheduled notification on the 28th of May...but I haven't gotten a letter with the date, place, and time yet.  Submitted a request of missing notification but hoping their mailing process is just slow... any ideas on how to get this appointment info otherwise, can I call or make an INFOpass appointment?

Call or make an online inquiry for a missing notification? It hasn't been long enough to be honest and would definitely not warrant an infopass.

Meh. That doesn’t really make much sense to me. I know the SSN head office is in Maryland, and I can see me getting my SSN day or two quicker than most because of how close I am, but it doesn’t make sense why it takes 10 days for others. USPS isn’t that slow that it takes 8 extra days to receive a letter from a different state. In unrelated news, my EAD card arrived today.

I see we're getting the appointment letter today; they still sent it to our old address and it's been forwarded even after entering an address change form, but all good!

Does anyone understand how the RFE pushes back your processing time? I had an RFIE on my I-485 which took me a month to answer. Did my timeline for the EAD get paused for that month and start again as soon as they received my RFE response? Or did the EAD work only start once they updated that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview (which took them another month)?

Just trying to figure out who I should be comparing my timeline to at this point. My package was received on Oct. 11th and obviously many people after me have already received the EAD approvals, so just wondering at what point should I be worried about how long it's taking?

I also understand that I can't put in a service request until 60 days have passed from getting the last update (which in my case was April 17th) - is that regardless of whether my case is past the processing time?

Thanks for any input y'all can provide...

The processes are separate but parallel.

If you received an RFE for I485 and they were already work on your I765/I131 you'll probably get a delay of a month on those too BUT if they hadnt started processing them yet the RFE delay may not affect the I765/I131 at all.

You are still within normal processing times for I765 as they are reported to be processing Sept 28th today.

For AP you are one day beyond normal processing times.

I dont know what you mean here?

Where have you read this?

Last update for which? If your I485 status was updated, that has no relevance on the I765/I131.

Can you elaborate on what you mean please?

You can input a service request once they pass your processing date so today you could do one for AP but not EAD.

When I go on the request outside normal processing time website it says:

"

NOTE: We are actively processing your case if, in the past 60 days, you:

  • Received a notice from us about your case,
  • Responded to a request for evidence, OR
  • Received an online update to your case status.

"

And I think I read people here or on another forum saying that you can't put a service request in since they had an update within the last 60 days. Am I mistaken?

I'm pretty sure you guys had your interview 2 days after me and you got your Green Card way before me. I am at Day 29 since my interview and not a word. Since EAD and Green Card are two completely separate processes, it was a coincidence he got both his the same week. I WISH I would get my Green Card!
