@NikkiFromCanada, I just went ahead and started trying dates before my PD until it created the inquiry. If we have tried everything and they won't help us over the phone, let's just go around their barriers. What is the worse that can happen?

I'm with you, 217 days waiting... my GC interview has not been scheduled yet, EAD and AP still in "case was received"... and I have just accepted a job offer with a starting date in 2 weeks (the employer knows about the situation)... I have asked the help of the congressman and senator with the job offer and they said USCIS should give an answer in 7 days... I have also requested to expedite again (the first time I did because of USCIS error with my address, and they answered that my case was being reviewed and that I should receive a decision shortly... but it has been more than 3 weeks since)... Ombudsman has not answered me too...

I refuse to sit and wait... I'll do everything I can to pressure them to do their jobs!

I did try submitting a case inquiry by manipulating my PD. They just never answered it, likely because the information is incorrect. I also tried expediting which they have not answered either. I'm convinced they're just going to ignore me until they eventually get to my file, if they ever do. They need to just do away with the Ombudsman assistance request, and the case inquiry option because they just ignore it all and it's pointless. My Congressman got a response back from USCIS within 4 days, but their response was simply that my case was "under the jurisdiction of the NBC" lol which is not news at all. From what I can see, me and you and one other person are the only October filers left on this forum, who are still waiting for EAD

I don't think they will ignore the inquiry, it's just that they answer it in 15 to 20 days, and I bet it will be in 20 days.

The congressman may have contacted the local office instead of the NBC, and therefore that answer (I got the same automatic message when I created an inquiry for a new copy of my notice of receipt, and the system sent it to the local office instead of to the NBC)... did they say if they were going to ask the NBC for more information on your case?

And we might be the only ones left in this forum... but there are a lot of people still waiting... from my scans I estimate that about 25% of the EADs applications from October, around our date, are still being processed

How are you doing your scanning? When I scan 500 cases and position it to show 300 cases before mine and 200 after...there are only around 10 cases showing with the same PD as me. The rest of the cases are from Oct 22 and after!

I do pretty much the same, around 250 before my case number and 250 after it.

There're some case with the status of "fingerprint review completed" on October 25th, and then many cases with status "case received" from October 11th to October 19th, including mine.

In this range there are 68 cases still waiting a decision and I'm assuming that out of the 500 cases, 1/3 or 166 cases are I-765 (because when the status change to "card was delivered" and etc it stops showing if it's I-765 in the app, and therefore I can't be sure what's the total of EAD applications)

I checked about 3k cases around and my range is the one that has the most cases still open. The other 500 cases ranges only have between 20 and 50 cases open. And all those are around October 11th and October 25th.

Ok. I had hope because in the 500 around my case, there’s definitely less than 20 unprocessed cases with my date, and not one with a date before mine. I’m going to play around with it and search a few thousand. It’s not like I have much else to do!! lol

@NikkiFromCanada there are a lot more cases than you think if you play around with the numbers just a little more ;)

So...not only can I NOT submit a case inquiry to USCIS (I tried again today and it still says my case is within normal processing times) My case is now 8 days PAST the receipt date for a case inquiry. Now I also cannot submit a case inquiry to the Ombudsman to see if they can help me in any way. I truly don't know how much more of this I can take. I've never encountered such cold, mean people in all my life. It's so disheartening.

Did you try to ask Tier1 to send a request instead of you?🙄

I sent the request and  after 10 days  I decided to call Tier 1 . He said that he will send requst. I did not understand what he meant, because my request has already been sent. After that, a few seconds passed and he said - sorry, unfortunately, I will not be able to send a request, because you have already done it yourself.

I am still waiting for a decision EAD/AP because I received RFIE on I-485. Therefore, another option, maybe because you had an interview and they are still in the decision-making process, they blocked your requests (because these two processes are related)? This, of course, is absurd. But what else can you guess?🙄

I checked a few cases around my daty 4 October and several EAD from October 4, 5 -  still "Сase was recived".

In order to avoid big backlog,  USCIS reviews recent cases and periodically returns to earlier dates. We just had no luck.

How do they explain how sooooo many people who applied after me received their EAD already? They clearly don’t work cases in the order they come in. It’s unfair. Some people who have applied 2 months after me have had their EAD for 2 months already.

@NikkiFromCanada theres no explanation except its a broken process. They are using antiquated IT technology and the process hasnt been touched in years (typical of anything government run). I am in IT so I know how these government ships run, they are way behind, just now they are going digital (as stated in the press release from a few days ago). I bet they were still using faxes to transmit I485s to field offices!! Anyway no need to get upset, everyone waiting, half people get expedite half dont, the rest wait, your turn will come. My wife is waiting for her ead/ap for now 5 months so we are in a similar boat as you.. I read that theres like 200 employees doing this process, 70 fulltime and 140 contractors, many of which are on memorial day leave already... have patience (im having difficulty with it as well)

All Octobers waiting time already is not 5 months, but 7 months or more. My waiting period already of 7 months and 20 days. NikkiFromCanada more then 7 month and can not even send requst ( something is blocked). And at the same time, people, who filed documents in February and March 2019 have already received EAD/AP, and some even GC.  The point is not that the October has something wrong with the documents, but the fact that their folders have not even been opened yet.

And it's not about the lack of technology, but about elementary disorder. Forgotten boxes stand in forgotten corners and workers open only those folders that are within arm's reach from the table. This is my personal understanding of what is happening.

@ira1712 - get a lawyer, theres only so much we (normal people) can do. Find someone who knows the law and see what they can do.

re: elementary disorder?!? thats our government.. why are you so surprised? Ukraine elected a comedian, you think ours is better?

re: February and March filers.. you think 5-10 people on this forum represent the big scope of the ACTUAL cases filed? youre mistaken. These are just lucky. the other 99.9% are waiting just like everyone else.

This is a very supportive group of people who filed in October and are getting frustrated with the process. We share anything we did that might be useful to someone else's case and offer support during the wait.

You guys have kept me sane over the past 7.5 months. We'll all get there

Are you kidding? 🤣  What leverage  lawyer has over the process that supposedly goes on in “normal mode”? 7 months of waiting - request - answer "wait for a response within a month, and if you do not receive a response, you have the right to submit another request, to which answer within 30, and so on ad infinitum". If your spouse falls into the group of the same unlucky ones, then I hope you will use your own advice and tell us how it happens in practice🤗

5-10 people from the forum ,who submitted documents in February and March and received the EAD/AP/GC,  just confirm that the USCIS officers hands took the folders that lay on top (because they came later). That's right, 99 % (Febtuary and March) still have to wait, because the waiting period is 5 - 7 months (their time has not  come yet)🙂

I am so so sorry so many ppl are still waiting. EAD/AP processing times at 6.5 to 8.5 months now - wow just wow.
