How important are tax returns during the interview?

We weren't asked anything about tax returns at our interview. He didn't ask us for one thing the list said we needed to bring.

Tried to make an inquiry today because according to https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ today my EAD/ AP case went outside of processing time... tried to do it online first and it kept saying that my case is still within normal processing time... so I called USCIS, and the tier 1 officer tells me that in their system it shows that they are actually working on cases from 2 days before what the website says, so I will have to wait another 2 days 😫

I hope this means that I will receive my approval tomorrow... 206 days and trying not to go crazy....

All of this waiting is so ridiculous but you’re so close! Fingers crossed for an approval for you before you need to inquire in two days 🤞🏻 We’re on day 186 and hoping we’ll hear before we need to inquire about our case but my expectation of USCIS processing it before our inquiry date is so low. I have no faith in USCIS right now lol.

Fingers crossed tight for you!

Hi @ira1712, any updates on your EAD? Have you made an inquiry already?

I appreciate your positive thoughts for me!

I hope yours doesn't take as long as mine is taking! It is hard to have faith in USCIS, but at one point this is all gonna be in the past 🙏

My PD is October 19, and the current processing date to make an inquiry is October 20. When I tried to submit an inquiry, it says my case is still in normal processing times. So frustrating!!!

Let me share our journey here.

Our AOS filing date was 10/16/2018.

EAD status changed to “New Card is Being Produced” on May 10, 2019 afternoon.

We had an Infopass appointment on May 7th and also submitted our Case Inquiry online on May 9th. Next day for some reason it got approved 🎉🎉🎉.

When we had our Infopass appointment with the officer, he asked if we have received the EAD card yet. We told him we were still waiting for it. He was very nice and courteous and gave us the good news that our case has just been assigned to an officer that same day. He told us that once it has been assigned to an officer it means that an approval should be coming soon and will hear within 30 days. He told us that most of the cases that are waiting for long and stucked in their system is because the case has not been assigned yet.

When we submitted our case inquiry on May 9th, it wouldn’t let us submit an inquiry. Instead, we used the earlier date that when we postmarked it to the post office. It allowed us to submit the inquiry. Magically, the next day we got approved!!! Not sure if the contributing factor is the Infopass appointment we had or the case inquiry that we submitted.

I hope this helps and we hope you guys should get your approval anytime soon.

Thank you. I just tried this and it worked. I put in the date I mailed my application, and it allowed me to submit an inquiry. I’ll try anything at this point. No word after my Green Card interview, so I’m desperate.

He just asked LOT of questions. And I just realized he didn’t even take the vaccination document from me. Lot of tricky questions. Also if every date or detail wasn’t sure (like I would say I moved from that apartment 1st July) he would say: it shows here 2nd. Which one it is?

Yep we did ours in Baltimore and they did the same thing questions tricky ones too and went back to same question to see if answer was different.smh

True, all they ask me was for 5 important pictures and supposedly they dont find my marriage certificate so they make copies.

Hi @ira1712, any updates on your EAD? Have you made an inquiry already?

🙏

April 30, I sent a request  (I-765 and I- 131) and received a response - wait for a response until May 22.

On May 10, I called USCIS and asked to speak with Tier 2, because I consider that my documents are lost and even after the biometrics was taken there were no updates on my page. They promised to call me back, but nobody called me back.

Today, on May 13, I had an update on the petition I-485 (they sent me a Request for Initial Evidence Was Mailed). This is already a good sign. This shows me that at least they opened my folder first time since October 4. I will send them the missing documents (although I’m sure I’ve sent them all) and they will send my documents to Los Angeles. But waiting tima in my Los Angeles 12-19.5 month. It is will change nothing for me.

But there are no updates on my EAD. Therefore, I will call them again today. Today 221 days.

Some people get work permits and travel permits in the mailbox, but  the site says "Case was received." Do not worry. Your petitions are approwed and it is mean soon you will receive your card. 😀 I have 218 days of waiting time and no update. Maybe I will receive the card without any changes on the site (there are many such cases). At the very least, you have been informed that your case has been reviewed and approved. It is perfectly. A little patience and everything will be fine.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Thank you so much.
