Are here anyone that has done their interview? So we have our interview next week and I was planning to travel home like the same day after the interview. I have my combo card already so if we are approved at the spot.... Do they take my combo card right there or how does it work? Is it safe for me to change my flights already or should I wait? Can it be a problem at the interview?

had our interview on friday, the 26th. We applied in Colorado, and we had lots of luck getting our interview scheduled so quickly! For those waiting, hang in there, you have to admit waiting together is a hell of a lot better than waiting in separate countries!

Our interview was scheduled at the public library in Grand Junction, CO. Which we had to call to confirm because it seemed very strange to not have it done at the USCIS offices in Denver, or even the USCIS office in grand junction itself. But overall it went smoothly!

The officer met us while we waited in the childrens literacy reading center and after a few minutes we were called into a back room.  He asked us how we met, who initiated the first contact, how our relationship grew over time, where we live, and what we do for work.  Then he went through our AOS application and reaffirmed the information we put on there.  Then he went through the yes/no questions, have you ever been part of the communist party, gangs, commited a crime etc etc . basically all the questions you answered NO to.  He was congenial and professional. He did have a serious demeanor when asking certain questions, but we felt relaxed and confident through out.  It took about 45 minutes and at the end he had just mentioned that he was swamped with work so we might hear back from him in about a month if he had any other RFE's or needed more evidence.  WE gave him some new pictures, and a copy of our lease which had both our names on it.  And that was it! Weird that it was done in a library, but afterwards we went out for lunch did some shopping and went home, nothing to be nervous about if you have a legit relationship it shouldn't be a problem!  I think having gone through the K1 visa process made it easier, we had TONS of paperwork and evidence ready and he didn't look at any of it. My fiance said that the K1 interview at the consulate in juarez was much more intense.  I'm sure for the officer, seeing that we have been in process for almost 2 years helps quell any doubt he/she might have about a bonafide relationship.

good luck to you all, I'm sure not everyone's experience will be like this, but I hope our experience helps put you at ease for your interview!

Next step, get that green card in hand.

Well fellow Octo'ers - The day is finally here it is now showing 2nd October to be outside of processing dates for EAD/AP :) So we're finally moving into a place where we can maybe get some answers!!! Hopefully this week is full of approvals for all that are still waiting! ALSO! Hoping this week is my week and that they're going to play a joke on me and approve me on the same day I got my K1 approved... May the 4th be with you 😂

Am I reading this right, they're on October 7th??

I see that over here too! I hope it is not a system error 🙏 maybe they are working really hard to catch up...

I checked the dates for AOS at my LFO and they also changed for better! From 8-18.5 months to 7-17 months!

When I checked they were at october 8th already. But they left people behind... At least I didnt see people from previous dates to celebrate. This is unfair, I hope everybody get their answers soon!

I think this is just a general indication that they are slowly catching up, and makes it possible for more people to make inquiries for case outside of normal processing time... I don't think it changes a whole lot when we'll get our approvals, but it's better news than when they pushed the dates forward twice on March 😁

I'm on day 194 here, and job interviews really picking up now (doing almost one a day), I really need the EAD/AP!!!

I gave up on interviews because they wanted to hire me but since i didnt have the documents they didnt want to continue. I just received ombudsman and congresswomans response that Im under normal processing times and theres nothing they can do. I hope I can see more approvals when i scan in the app at least.

Don't give up on applying and doing job interviews! Tell them that the documents are supposed to come soon, with a small risk of taking a little longer... I understand that it is frustrating knowing that someone wants to hire you, but they won't give you a job offer because they don't understand the process... but you will get better on the job interviews, will probably filter down the best jobs for you, and when you get the EAD or GC you'll probably have a job waiting for you...

It just takes a lot of patience! I have probably applied for more than 100 jobs, and done some 30 interviews on the phone or in person... There is a company that calls me every month and asks me if I have received the EAD already, there's another recruiter that at first told me to wait for the EAD and contact him, but a month later he calls me and tells me that I will do the interview with the hiring manager anyways... all this work (applying and interviewing) and frustration will probably pay off with a better job at the end :D

Yes I know, my husband knows a job recruiter, he said we should wait. So I stopped for a while. Even at the ziprecruiter app i found a very good job opportunity and I applied, then when I sent my resume came a questionnaire "Are you allowed to work in USA? Yes and no haha. So I pretended I was dead and didnt answer haha I will restart next week. I used to work for the same company as my husband, they wanted to hire me but only with documents. I dont know if I want to go back there, but since Im desperate I will never know. I saw I guess on november thread uscis' response to congress inquiry about their backlog. IT seems they are really working on it.

Same here, submitted my request. Expect reply by May 23, 2019-- I hope it comes sooner!

I think yours might be coming soon, they might hve passed the date because there are just small amount of people waiting on the previous dates, since they approved a lot already from october.
