Hey Octobears,

I couldn't bear another day (Day 202) of not knowing where I stand with the EAD/AP situation - so I gave a call to USCIS today to speak to a Tier 2 agent. Spoke with someone today and was told that nothing had been touched on my case since Nov last year! He said that there was a huge backlog at NBC for EAD and AP's and that the last time someone called in he was advised to give the Ombudsman number, especially as I'm still within 'Normal Processing Times', even though I'm about a week away from being outside Normal Processing Times now. He understood my frustration and gave me the Ombudsman number. I proceeded to call the Ombudsman [(202) 357-8100] and they told me just to fill out a form online ( https://cisomb.dhs.gov/oca/form7001.aspx ) - which I have done but don't know if it's gone through as I've yet to receive a confirmation email. [It apparently doesn't work on Chrome or Firefox and you have to use Internet Explorer? - But I managed to work it on Chrome, if I don't receive any confirmation by tomorrow, will re-submit after re-downloading Internet Explorer...]

I am not sure if this will help anyone else, but if it does, glad to pass on the information - I know we are all going stir crazy in waiting. Here's to more approvals this week and some solid responses to everyone whose sent in a case inquiry or RFE/RFIE!

Hi! Thank you for sharing this. My congresswoman sent the inquiry to them on april 10th, I didnt receive a response from them yet. I think I will have to wait one more week to see if they answer something and then Ill contact the Ombudsman. Im really tired of all of this. The only good part I keep thinking is: since Oakland park is taking 19-25 months to schedule interview, i might not have to revalidate my work permit during this period.

Hey! What options did you chose to be able to speak to someone at USCIS? I believe someone already told he group but I can’t seem to find the info. It must’ve been awhile back when I read it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey I usually use the Rotary phone method which is not to press anything let the recordings go on and it sends you over to an English/Spanish line if it comes to the Spanish line, just say you have a rotary phone and couldn't press any options but you need to speak to someone in English :)

That usually gets you to Tier 1 - that time I spoke to the Tier 1 she asked for my info, and I said I need to talk to someone from Tier 2 because I'm like almost out of processing times and I need someone who can actually see what is going on with my case, she said that's fine but she needs to take down my information anyway. Was transferred but there was a wait time, so had to enter my number to be called back - waited about an hour or two for the callback to speak to a Tier 2.

Hope this helps!

What I have done before is follow the path to schedule an infopass appointment. I can't remember the options you have to choose, but if you hear the messages you'll know.

Thank you! I’m at 168 days So I’m not sure if they’ll be helpful but I figured it doesn’t hurt to try!
