Congratulations! 😀This will be a combo card.

Thank you so much! I figured it would be a combination card. But my question now is: How do they usually update the case status for the I-131 (on the USCIS Case Tracker phone app)? It only says "New Card is Being Produced" for the I-765 application.

It is unknown. Some people get update, some people recive a card in the mailbox without any update on the site. USCIS unpredictable.🙄                                 Most importantly, you got approval on I-765. 😀 ( I-131 will be automatically attached).

Holy goodness me 🤯 checked the app and saw my i485 status changed directly to card is being produced!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Thank you Chicago officer!!!!!! You are too cool. I wish you many raises from uscis this year and the next!

It's interesting that the status never showed case is approved but I'm assuming since the card is being produced, we are approved right? Anyone know roughly how long it takes from card being produced to getting the card in hand?

OMG no! Ours was at Baltimore too, and it took about 30 minutes. It was pleasant and seemed to go well, but I left very sad because we didn't get an on the spot approval like so many. I'm so discouraged now and I have no idea when I'll get my Green Card. What happened?? Do you remember his name? Ours was Garrison.

It wasn't Garrison, something else... He said that something is missing or he needs to check from our K1 file and he didn't have it. Then we asked if its something that we would have etc. Then he was like its a process, I don't know how long it would take or if you need another interview. He was something else.

So few experiences from our interview which was yesterday.

Our interview time was at 830am. We arrived around 8 am and got ticket 8.05. Waited about 30 minutes when our name was called. The officer told us how the interview would go and started recording. He asked lot of extra questions and checked every address and every date where I had lived in the past 5 years. If I said like I moved on 1st July but on the papers were like 2nd July or 15th July he would then ask more questions. I didn’t have copy of the i-485 and I didn’t read it through previous night which clearly I should have, so TIP: read through your application the previous day.

Some of the questions were tricky and I froze couple of times and my husband didn’t remember what year we met etc.

Like if I would say "our dog or our house" he would then say who is our? Which for me that was just being ####### (this was end side of the interview)

Or if I would say that depending on the week blaablaa, then he would ask what do you mean by depending on? Like I mean not all our weeks look a like. An then I AGAIN had to explain what do I mean by that.

He asked everything from my parents names to his moms name, where do we live, when did we moved there, when I arrived, where did I arrive, where did we met, what was the place called (Like my husband said we met in Montreal and he would asked and where is that), what did we do in Montreal? Who spoke the first time, how did it go from there etc. He didn't ask how many times we have met or anything like that. We did tell him that anyway.

He took some of our pictures, tax returns and insurance details and some other documents. But not my birth certificate or lot of other stuff like the vaccination papers (I forgot to even show him those).

And of course all the yes/no questions and he then made like 9 corrections to our application and then we went it through together and when we both agreed it was fine we then signed it with the officer together.

He then said that something was missing or he needed to check something from our K1 file and he has asked for it but hasn’t received it yet (he also said it’s in another building?) and that if we need another interview he will let us know.

Also he kept repeating that: this is a process, this is a process. (Pretty sure we know that).

Also middle of the interview he took his wallet and took something from there and started writing to the computer. LOL. I don’t know how unlucky we were with this dude.

About an hour later got an email and the status changed to: Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed

I was shocked whole day yesterday how I (or we) was treated and how difficult this process is.

I have calmed down little and now all we can do is wait what happens next.

I truly hope that all of you have better experience than we did.

It's such a disappointment when you have a true relationship, and you did everything right....you FINALLY get your interview, and then you're told you need to keep waiting with no end in sight. If I had EAD, I wouldn't have been so shattered the other day. I cried for 2 days straight. I definitely got my hopes up too high. It's so hard to see others getting an "on the spot approval." We've been together for FIVE years and have enormous amounts of evidence. We're both the most law abiding people you can meet. My husband makes 5 times above the poverty guideline, and we're both educated with professional careers. I've been back and forth between Canada & the USA for five years now. But you see people who met in person ONE TIME before getting married and they get an on the spot approval. It makes no sense!! I'm sorry you had a bad experience too. My actual interview went well, and it was a comfortable vibe, and the guy was nice...but it makes no sense that they're basically holding our Green Card hostage.

I hear ya. I wish you had already gotten your EAD, as that's what gives me solace. Like you, we would be considered high income and we had tons of evidence to show. I don't think there's anything wrong with your (/our) application from the sound of it. My officer did say things looked good (or maybe "in good shape", don't rmbr the exact words) when I was clarifying next steps. It seems like once the application goes back into post-interview review, we're at the mercy of whoever gets around to conducting the final checks. Let's keep each other's morale up here!

Some people get work permits and travel permits in the mailbox, but  the site says "Case was received." Do not worry. Your petitions are approwed and it is mean soon you will receive your card. 😀 I have 218 days of waiting time and no update. Maybe I will receive the card without any changes on the site (there are many such cases). At the very least, you have been informed that your case has been reviewed and approved. It is perfectly. A little patience and everything will be fine.

So my husband, daughter and myself have to go to Charlotte, NC for our AOS interview in 10 days. I'm in the process of gathering up all my paperwork again and I just wanted to be sure that I don't need to bring the i864 again (I mailed it with my application). Also, should I fill out and take i693? I already submitted my medical report to them when I entered the country.

I'm also stressing a little after reading some of the reviews.  My husband is terrible with dates and I'm afraid it'll raise concerns at the interview.

UGH the stress! Fingers crossed that it will soon be done and over with.

How important are tax returns during the interview?

? Did you not submit them with your I864?
