So after having waited patiently for almost a year we got the approval from USCIS and things started moving again.
When NVC appointed a case no to or case, it came through an email and instructed us to follow electronic processing (EP) instead of normal mailing one.
We became happy as we got to know from people that EP is a faster process than normal one.

And indeed it was, we could submit everything in one day. And within a week we got a response on the uploads.

But after that things have not been very smooth.

The response we got from NVC was this "remove the joint sponsor and add him and his documents under a household member"

Instructions were clear and we were like lets do this. We got everything ready in an hour. But...

The CEAC portal doesn't have any option to delete the joint sponsor.

We called the NVC, reps have no clue about this. They tell us to use NVC public inquiry form. We ask the timelines for that, they say they dont have any timeframes for that.

There's no direct line to the CEAC people who handle these things.

Now we are in the waiting game again wishing we had a normal processing where we would have sent revised documents via mail to NVC

Aaaarrrrghhh.

What if you submit again without attempting to get the Joint Sponsor removed and let the Household and Joint member remain as duplicate entries?

Doesnt allow us to add the same person as a household member. So first step is to delete him as the joint sponsor.

nevertheless, we went ahead and added the required documents there itself along with a note for case officer (explaining everything).

They asked for one additional document for the applicant.  So we did all the changes and submitted again.

After that they have reviewed our case, ( we know this because they accepted the newly submitted document of the applicant).
But they did not do anything about this whole joint sponsor vs household member thing.

I have same type of problem. Since my joint sponsor is live on same house with petitioner (my wife). They  told me that  joint sponsor named should be in household member section. We did it but unfortunately the submit button is not working . We cant submit the files. when we click the

submit button, there is a pop up saying I have not uploaded all the required files. It starts happening when they maintained their website after July.

We emailed them three times and called three times. They said we will look and let you know. Also suggest that upload a document to remove the joint sponsor. I am facing this problem since august 9th 2018.

In this situation we sent the files by mail. There also no response from them. we are disappointed now.

Hope they will reply soon.

That's good. BTW how do you know they "accepted" any document. Is there something you see in CEAC for an accepted document.

Also, after how many days after submitting did you get their first response on the application?

Yes there is a notification column against each uploaded document. Where it says one of the three things "submitted/rejected/accepted".

It took only one week for them to respond on the initial uploads. And one day to respond on the revised uploads. But I guess they are also helpless as the CEAC platform isn't built good enough to delete some items which are required to be deleted.

Thats way too long brother. You can't just leave them like that.

Their system is imperfect, they need to fix it.

I so wish now that my case was processed in a normal mail way instead of this stupidly built CEAC uploading system.

What was the outcome of this situation? I am in the same boat. They placed me under supervisor review. Can take up to 6 weeks to review, starting today. :( I am so frustrated.

Thank you! Do I call them and ask to speak with a supervisor in charge of my case? Or do I just keep calling and asking the reps for updates?

Keep calling them. They might connect you to a rep as well. But this wont take 6 weeks. CEAC uploading and review is a fast process.

Also if u get everything done fast (say in a day or two) you might get interview date next week for interview in Decemeber.
If you miss this week then your interview is likely to be in Jan '19.

Thank you, my friend! I am hoping I get a CC tomorrow. Or even Monday.

It is absurd how different the advice each NVC rep gives. I just called a bit ago, and asked for an update to my case. The rep I talked to today was so confused about my case. She mentioned that I had a financial document being incomplete(???), but all of my financial documents were already accepted. My issue has nothing to do with financial docs, it is the fact I cannot delete the joint sponsor.

Also, she said nothing about a supervisor review. Which other reps have mentioned to me. These reps mentioned it could take 6 weeks.

I didn't bring it up this time either. But, I did ask her for a timeline and she said it could take 3 weeks(?). There is a huge difference between 3 and 6 weeks.

So, who is right? Who is wrong?  I am so confused, lol. I will call back later to see what they have to say this time.

You are absolutely right about the fact that different reps give u different information. In fact some of them do not even understand this joint sponsor vs household member thing. Also majority of the NVC reps are not sure which 864 forms is to be filed for whom. I had called NVC before uploading the forms.

On their advice itself I added my brother in law as a joint sponsor instead of household member only to know that their peers who reviewed my forms did not think that it was a right thing to do.

Anyways, you'll realise in some time that some reps are knowledgeable and supportive while others not so much. And as afar as my experience with NVC goes, I assume there are not many reps who deal with CEAC uplaoding cases, so chances are, you might bump into the same reps multiple times.

What you should do then is make a list of reps and tag them accordingly so that next time you call, and unfortunately get the incompetent one to talk to, you can hang up and dial back.
