Ooh I think you are right!

My case got shipped on 18th, I booked interview on 20th, and it arrived at embassy on 22nd :D

So yeah, wait till it's in transit!

Hi there... our case is currently in transit and we were able to book our interview appointment for mid November but my fiance was unable to pay the MRV fee? Can you please give me some advice on this? Will this update on the website when London receives the case. NVC still shows it "in transit" rather than "ready" so I think we may have jumped the gun a bit on this or maybe he missed a payment page? Any help is greatly appreciated. Kinda losing our minds on how to pay this. The interview is the day before my birthday and I booked nonrefundable flights to be there with him for it too. Haha. Ahh... Thanks!

Did you read Step 4 of the Instructions from the embassy? Most people who didn't find the payment path did not start with

  • Select “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment”;

He actually saw another thread while I was asleep that laid out what went wrong and he got it all sorted out overnight and rescheduled.

  For anyone else coming across this post in the future this is the thread that was helpful in the K1 process.

Up till now I had thought you pay for the visa at the embassy. But now reading this I am confused. My NVC status is in transit but I was allowed to book an appointment. I just cancelled, signed out and tried again but the only option I have is to schedule an appointment.

Are you reading the instructions London sent you or just picking up bits in a forum?

Instructions https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

Follow the four steps

Bit of everything really. I never had the option to select what it states. Perhaps because I created the account before it left NVC(?). Either which way, if I cancel the appointment, that option doesn’t present itself. If I cancel and log out and back in again, it asks for me to schedule an appointment and nothing else. Also, I have a print out from some stage of the journey which says if you haven’t paid for your visa fees prior to the interview, to ensure you bring payment on the day:

”If you have not paid all required fees to either the National Visa Center or via the appointment website, please be prepared to pay these fees on the day of your interview. All fees may be paid in U.S. dollars or British pounds. We accept cash, international money order, bankers drafts, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express, or a debit card with a Visa logo only).”

Yes they absolutely will take your payment on the day. They prefer not to, but they will make sure to get their money before you get to see the interviewer.

Are you on the green Immigrant site? Not the blue one. And you currently have no appointment because you cancelled?

I am on the green immigrant site. No, I do have an appointment. I booked it again. I’m possibly worrying over nothing.
