I have no idea why Katya’s N400 was processed so fast.  We never expected it at all as we had already waited over a year for the rOC.  We were very surprised when the interview came up when it did, she scrambled to prep for the civics test, watched countless interviews on YouTube, and was constantly having me quiz her endlessly.  I guess her application hit the Detroit office and an IOs desk at the right time.  Since then, Detroit has slowed down a bit.

Ten years ago today, on 9 October 2008, Mrs.-T-B.-to-be passed through POE with use of her K-1 visa.

 

I'm still composing the monster thread that details how badly we and our contemporaries got hosed at the rat-illegitimate Guayaquil consulate.  The search for "why" was the years-long question.  The thread won't be ready anytime soon, but expect it.

 

Oh -- and a relevant haiku:
