How do I get passport out of visa packet?

My fiancée just received her visa packet today with the passport inside. The instructions say, “Do not open, or even attempt to open, the visa packet or envelope. You may only open the plastic pouch to retrieve your passport.”  The problem is there is no plastic pouch and the passport is in the clear visa part of the packet. What do we do?

Just cut carefully the plastic pouch that has the passport just enough to get it.

The DO NOT OPEN is stamped on the manila envelope.    You can cut the plastic open  and remove the passport.    What is the "clear part" made of?

The clear part is made of plastic. The Do not open is stamped on the Manila envelope, but it says do not open the visa packet or envelope and we were thinking that anything inside the clear plastic part was considered the visa packet?

The VISA packet is the manila envelope with your case file documents.      You are over thinking all of this.   Just cut the plastic, remove the passport, leave the DO NOT OPEN envelope in the plastic and put it in your carry-on bag.

 

Then head to CFO

One more stupid question. The visa packet is present at the POE like at JFK and not like at HKG leaving for the USA right? So a 1 hour layover in HKG should be fine right?

POE is the 1st airport within the USA or its territories (couple exception in Canada)

 

Yes a 1 hour layover in HKG is just fine, all you  need is time to get from one gate to the next

We have instructed over a 1000 Filipino's to do this and boy are all of them are MAD :girlwerewolf2xn:. It's gotten so bad most of us can't return back to the Philippines as their relatives are waiting for us with BIG sticks. :jest:
