So I think I just delayed my wife coming to America

So I mailed off my paperwork for the CR-1 at the end of July and got the NOA in August. We had a baby in June so I went to visit and my wife Aug/Sept. Well you know the Britney Spears song "Woops I did it again"? We just found out she is pregnant again. It wasn't really in the plans to have another so soon, but things happen. Now I am thinking that when we are able to get the VISA, she may be too far along to travel in which case we will need to wait until baby #2 is born. Thin I am thinking we need to get a CRBA before baby #2 can travel and also wait till at least 3 months old. I guess we will need to wait and see.

Yes...X2 now

You didn't complete CRBA for the 1st one yet?   Oh my ...

If you can get an expedite to get the birth certificate recorded at PSA you can get this all completed very quickly.

And DO get Philippine passports for both while at it, otherwise you will have to deal with ECC fees for the children before exiting.   And for the 1st child that could mount up .. $$$ .. as it would be a year or more.    Much easier to get the Philippine passports.

I do know that USCIS is hard to expedite but from what I hear NVC is a bit more capable of approving the expedite.  I'm not sure that pregnancy is a legitimate excuse but it is certainly worth the attempt.  If you can cut 3 months down to 1 it may help depending on the NOA2 date.

PS:  CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Planned to do it when I was just there but still didn't get the PSA Birth Certificate :(

Yes that was the plan on the first one. Her sister and sister in law went to register the birth while she was in the hospital. I told them to request an expedite. They did and the Registrar said that only the mother can do that. It seems pretty stupid to me. So I told her when she gets discharged go to the registrar on the way home. She had a cs and I knew she just wanted to go home, but I told her it was very important. Well she decided not to and here we are still waiting :(

Yes, that was my plan also, leave the embassy after CRBA appointment and go to get the Philippines passport right after since we are in Manilla and no need for appointment getting a visa for baby. That all got pushed back so definitely next visit. Now she knows the importance of requesting the expedite so I am sure next one she will do it.

I know a few like that also, but then they have no plan to move back to the USA.     Sadly they aren't giving consideration to their wife "down the road" for certain types of benefits she could be eligible to receive.

Exactly. Right. My wife has no desire to live in the USA but she wants to be together with me. That requires her to move here because I would not be able to live there and make the income we need. But also once we get her here we will go through the process of getting her citizenship and both of our children will already have dual citizenship and I want her to have the same. We will go back to the Philippines when I retire. Since she will most likely out live me I want her and our children to have options. I do think about their future, where some "kano's" may not.

The ones I have met live in the USA.  Last guy I meet on a plane going to Boracay was with USCIS.  He just said he was happy going to Philippines a few times a years and would move there long term once he retired, he looked to be 45ish years old.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.
