Hello. We just scheduled an interview appointment for my brother at the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines. We are preparing his documents now. What are the normal documents that he should bring for the interview and what are his chances for approval? He is 30 yrs old, single, a mechanical engineer, and currently working in our family business with our father. Our parents have their tourist visas already and are planning to spend the holidays here in the US once he is approved and will probably have him come over too when I will have my surgery in the future to help take care of me. What will be the best reason for his visit for better chances of approval. Thank you so much for your help.

He can bring documents that show his ties to his home country, (employment/home ownership/etc.) but CO is not obliged to look at any of them.

Chances of his approval depend on whether CO believes he has compelling reasons to leave the US after the visit.

Even though he is your brother, and even though you would not be paying him, caring for you after your surgery can be seen as illegal work while on a tourist visa and can result in denied entry.

He would bring all of the supporting documents of his ties to the Philippines (work documents, property ownership, school documents, etc).

Be careful with him and family coming over to help take care of you. Immigration sees that as work even though it is a caring relative. They could be denied and even denied entry to the US if found out.
