I've had my OPT approved and have received my EAD Card and have started working.  I was hoping to go home for christmas this year but am now wondering if I do,  amI going to be allowed back into the USA to work until the visa expires?  Reason I am asking is because written on the bottom of the EAD card is says 'NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO U.S.'. Just wondering if anyone had any idea.  TIA

No you will not be able to renter with this card. You only have a EAD (Work Permit) you also would need and AP ( Advanced Parole) in order to reenter the US. You should have applied for this when you did your EAD.

If the OP has a valid visa, then they can re-enter on that. No need for AP.

 

Unless they also filed for AOS...exiting the US without AP is cause for abandonment of AOS, as well as not being granted entry on the visa on the basis of immigrant intent.

I believe OP has a valid F1 student visa and is not an AoS applicant. You can use your I-20 to re-enter and job letter. Just make sure your I-20 has an up-to-date signature from your DSO on it before traveling.

OP had mentioned being engaged to marry last year, presumably to a US person.

Ah, well, as geowrian said, so long as OP has not filed AoS, they're fine to travel with their visa.
