We have homes and businesses in both nations. we will travel back and forth to manage our businesses and spend time with each family. we chose the K1 visa because all of the research we did said it is faster and easier. Im just trying to find out what is the fastest process to allow us to return to Asia and still return. WE don't really care about her green card. Just the ability for both of us to travel back and forth. As I said, we have two homes in the Philippines and one here.

K1 is faster to get her here and stay. If you were planning to go back and forth ASAP cr1 was best option as you get green card(ability to travel outside of country) right away vs applying for AP and waiting months.

My husband originally came here on an E2 investment visa. I am not sure how that would work though, if you are a US citizen because he came via an Australian Company. I believe it is an upfront investment of $500,000 or $1 million ( cash needed not loans) depending on the location of your company/area you serve (we laugh because he has lived in 4 out of the 10 highest crime cities in the US because of the E2 investment visa contracts).

We delayed our honeymoon, which was travel to another country by a year, because he wasn't allowed to leave the country during AOS. We waited until all his paperwork was filed to book, just the reality of immigration.

Not sure how they would know... we have a non legal ceremony with the family, catch a plane back to the USA.... how would they know?

Wow, this is the US federal government we're talking about. Do you really want to take that chance with them? Getting married abroad and then trying to enter the US is fraud and misrepresentation, which can lead to a lifetime ban. Shake MY head. USCIS come on this forum to check out what's being discussed, just so you know, and you've included pretty personal info and your picture on your profile.

Even the CR1 is probably not a good choice for you since it sounds like you and your fiancée don't want to reside in the US PERMANENTLY. That is the whole point of K1 and CR1. Lawyers are only advise you as to what your options are. They can't change the laws just so you can magically get what you want. This is why research is so paramount before taking action.

That's supposed to say, "Getting married abroad and then trying to enter the US on K1 is fraud..." Can't English today apparently.

to think of doing something that does not follow the rules and validate it with "how will they know?" is just asking for trouble.

Right after complaining about corruptcy... oh, the irony.

Yes, Immigration is different than building code by a mile. I was having issues installing a backup generator at my house( Just last week) because where I wanted to place it didn't give the 18" of clearance from a wall to my house, it was close, 16-17 I think, and when the inspector came out I was required to make the appropriate " Donation" to the right person to get the install signed off and the job completed. I completely understand corruption in the building codes, electrical codes, plumbing codes, etc. and yes most of the time you can get whatever you want if you know the right person, or have the $$$$$, but I haven't yet found a way to pay off or get something done with immigration easier with a " Donation" to the right person ( Trust me, I have skills and looked for the quick pay someone off way). So I will say that the immigration process is a pretty fair and corruption free entity, there may be some corruption, but if I didn't find it it isn't very widespread. Maybe that will change when things get to the more Local level, and I will come back and post if there is an way to speed things up for AOS/ AP/ EAD, other than submitting the appropriate paperwork for an expedite.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!
