Good evening, all.

If my posts are getting a bit too regular and asking dumb question, please accept my apologies. I'm having a stressful time trying to sort all of this out as well as deal with a demanding job that takes a lot of my time. I don't really have anybody here in real life I can lean on for advice/support, and of course my fiancee is over the Atlantic, so I always appreciate the help and advice you guys offer.

With that being said...

I'm getting into a bit of a fluster re: photo upload for DS-160. I'm having a right old time with it. Does the electronic upload have to be exactly to the specifications outlined? I have a perfectly good passport type photo on my computer that I acquired today. My fiancee says this should/will be fine, but I am just hesitant before doing it because I'm anxious over it being wrong.

Help, advice and/or experience much welcomed.

Thanks,

Dktr Faustus.

Hey!

For the DS-160 photo I just scanned through onto my computer an American sized visa photo that I had done earlier that day and that was accepted.

I’m pretty sure it has to be American size, and passport style (as in no smiling, no hats, clear face etc).

Edit to say: you can always fill out the DS-160 and try to upload the photo. It’ll tell you if it’s accepted or not straight away and if it’s not you can save the form and come back to it later.

Ah so that is the test photo part then. Thank you :)

I don't have a scanner myself, and I tried doing it at a public library but I'm not confident of the quality. I will do the test photo thing shortly and see how it works out. Thanks again.

Hey it worked! I tried the test photo tool and it passed. It's a UK passport one, but the official Gov website has said it's okay so great. A big relief.

Have you tried scanning it with your phone? You can get apps that do that and then you email it to yourself.

I did that for my acro police report and it was accepted without a problem :)

If you have an iphone (other brands are available 😉) then download the Scannable app. You can scan in any photo or document just using your phone camera and save it as a pdf or a jpg the just email it to yourself or save on your cloud etc and voila. :)

Distance is no demon,

Often I think it can be a blessing for those in love,

a silent, underappreciated blessing.

It will have no power over us.

When you come stumbling to my door after months, with flowers and wine in hand,

I will be ready.

When I pick you up from the airport, the feeling will be unmatched,

that feeling like birds bursting in song from beneath my lungs,

that feeling unlike any other.

We have to stay strong and remember what is most important;

I love you, and you, me.

The air between us is nothing but a metaphor.

Nothing, not one thing, can come between us.

That's great, thanks for the tip. I'm sure it will come in handy for the future.

I think you just need to take off that mask and you'll feel better. 😂🤣
