My question, since, we are in May 2019 and currently, USCIS is processing US citizen case as of Oct 2018, which mean, my PD is passed. Do I still wait 5 months before process start or does it mean in 5 months, visa will be issued? Meaning all process updates and requests will take 5 months before visa interview is schedule?

Yes technically it means it has passed but since these situations are not tracked it is hard to tell. Some people had their's approved < 1 month and some took exactly 5 months like mentioned in the email.

The 5 months means to approve your I-130 which is handled by USCIS. The NVC stage can add another 2-3 months.

I'm glad I could add to your frustrations.

@saladboye

Looking at these charts, it seem everyone got their approval in 5 months. Yea, its hard to tell what was date USCIS were processing US cases. Maybe good to add another column, where ppl can add date as of USCIS is processing. Just to clarify my PD F2A date was Mar 2018, so USCIS is process as of Oct 2018. Looks we are are in the same range. You just got the email right? that user Ammy got i130 in 1 month. Maybe because PD was in Nov 2017. 6 months prior to ours

Congrats!!. Your upgrade was process 2 months after your oath. Was that via email or mail letter. Do you know, when what month USCIS was processing for US citizens's i-130 in  August 2018? that may explain why it took few months to approve i-130

After upgrading the petition from f2a to IR it takes me 5 month to get rfe. After submitting rfe 2 months to approved and two month to receive by nvc.

So, it doesn’t matter if we filed 2 yrs ago? This sounds like as if we filed i130 today. It takes 1 yr if & when US citizen files i130.

Thing is such cases are not measured and we are at USCIS mercy for this.

Kinda like how once your application is approved, there are no defined timelines for administrative process (caused me delay of 6 months as a result)

@bishnup congrats

do you know in August 2018, when your upgrade was processed, what month USCIS was processing the US citizen petitions

Which service center before moving to NvC?

@saladboye today I received mail letter confirming my upgrade if I-130. did you get yours? (Guessing 4/26/19) I contacted my congressman. They said, they will help but not expedite the case.

Which service center are you at?

It takes me 38 days to upgrade the petition and i send them all documents through fax. I didn’t get any email about upgrade i called the uscis and representative not able to tell my status. When i talked to supervisor he told me my petition was upgraded to IR from F2A. Mine was on CSC they take so long yo approve and send to NVC as well.

They said, they will help but not expedite the case.

Congressman cannot expedite, they can request to expedite if it meets criteria. They can help move things along tough.

I went bananas I contacted:

  1. Field Office Director via email (didn't get bounce back or vacation reply yay!)
  2. Congressman
  3. Senator
  4. Ombudsman.
