Has the status of your case on USCIS website changed to "Sent to Department of State"? Mine was approved in mid August and USCIS has not event sent it to NVC yet.

Based on all the info available it takes 4 weeks to reach NVC (as per the notice on approval) and another 3 weeks for NVC to assign a case no from the day they receive it (as per the NVC site under case creation time)

Thats why when you call they say it can upto 8 weeks to get a case no.

Mine got approved 08/07 , reached NVC 09/04, and we got the welcome letter on 10/01.

It won't unless your case no starts with IOE.

I would recommend calling NVC on Monday and check if they have received your case? If no, since it has been more than 6 weeks (NVC uses 6 weeks rule), you can email nvcresearch@state.gov and ask for their assistance in resolving the issue with the delay.

I’m out of country phone call wouldn’t work. Should I email? I thought email is for major issues about case.
