Looks like ombudsman is caught up and backlog seems to be current.

When I inquired about the current backlog, was told that my case has been assigned to someone for review.

hope we see some progress in august.. since march it seems like everything is on hold

The only remote semblance I think is NVC may have asked them to hold back as they work on the student visa since the acedemic year is about to start.

In my country's regional forum, There have been posts about how not a single interview notice went out for july under IR/CR1

Just google "submit inquiry to USCIS Ombudsman".

Look online for form  "DHS-7001"

Well... so some people get approved in like two months after they upgraded to IR1, some still have to wait the 5 months, and some even longer...

Still nobody knows how in what order they even process the cases, its just a mess.

My case got upgraded from F2A to IR1 on June 17, confirmation received on June 23. Lets see how it goes..

Mine are the same as yours. Hopefully, we can get some updates soon.

It has a section where you have to explain you situation. So, I was wondering if anyone included a letter.

Just be brief and explain it in short concise manner.
