Exactly. A K-1` is not needed to marry. No status is...even EWI travelers can marry fine.

Intent to AOS is the difference. K-1 permits this. B-1/B-2 does not.

Agreed.

Just like someone else coming to any other country, let's say going to Turkey or Amsterdam or whichever country they go to...

Fun facts that have nothing to do with this topic but I'm feeling a bit nitpicky...

Amsterdam is not a country but a city in the Netherlands. It's capital, to be exact. It is located in the province of North Holland which, together with South Holland, used to be a republic of it's own called 'Holland', giving the Netherlands its unofficial name that most people abroad still use (and some Dutch people too to the annoyance of all the Dutch folks not from the aforementioned provinces (yours truly included)).

And that ends our geography lesson for today.

Also, you can only get married in the Netherlands if at least one of you is a Dutch citizen.

I just said Amsterdam because of the embassy there coming up in the topic.

With a declined K1 I would expect the B to be cancelled.

I would assume so too. High possibility of getting revoked at entry in my opinion.

But it seems like withthe systems showing everything online now, “forgetting” to cancel visas on passport is not important for them. My b still looks viable, I expected a stamp at least at the poe.

I was thinking the same thing.  OP, was your passport returned to you from the consulate?

At the end of the interview we get the passport back. Embassy asked for more materials (photos, e-mails etc) along with the passport before making their final decision. In few days we prepared the package and sent it to Embassy. Few weeks later, we asked about result, and finally got an unofficial email stating their decision to send back our case to USCIS. All of our files will be sent back to USCIS but they did not mention about the passport. I usually worked overseas so passport is crucial for me. We waited few weeks and asked can we at least get our passport back. They sent it following day. We picked it up from post office and checked B1-B2. There was no stamps, nothing new also there was nothing in any of the other pages.

Since B1-B2 is a visa itself, given for 10 years, just because they are going to deny K1, they should not cancel my B1-B2. I did not commit a crime. I legally applied for a new visa and did everything by the books.

I did not travel right after I got my passport either. Instead few months later my fiance, visited me and we had vacation in Turkey.

So, I do not think my B1-B2 is invalid.

There have been occasions where a B visa became cancelled without the cancelation stamp in the passport.  And yes, they can cancel your B visa at any time without prejudice.  Even though your K-1 will be denied, it shows immigration intent.  I'm not saying your B visa is still valid or not.  I think the only way you can find out is by trying to take a trip to the USA or perhaps contacting the consulate.

Somehow contacting consulate is sounds risky. Even if they did not, they might cancel after me contacting them.

Amsterdam does less interviews

people in some countries do not wish to leave

Quite true.  The population of the Netherlands is quite small compared to others, they have a high quality life and are allowed to live/work anywhere in the EU.  Hubby and I are intending to move back to his home country when I retire, and then I go for Dutch citizenship.

To the OP: I agree with all of the suggestions on the CR-1.   When my husband and I compared the visa options, the benefits for the CR-1 far exceeded the K-1.   Get married, document everything and try again.  I know you just got an additional delay but years from now this will just look like a blip in your happy life together.   :)
