I-134 Question

Hi everyone!

My fiance is self employed and we were wondering what else to include in our I-134 packet.

He's filled out the form and signed it and he's going to include his last 3 years of IRS statements as he doesn't get W2s, he's also planning to include some bank statements just incase that is needed.

He is above the 125% poverty guidelines, so is there anything else he needs to send to me thagt the London embassy asks for?

Thanks for your help!

For self-employed, a tax return is all that shows actual income because of the profit/loss calculation and business expenses that can be deducted on Schedule C. The income they look at will be found on Line 22 of the Form 1040.  The latest return (2017) will be sufficient at a London interview. I don't see that a bank statement is of value unless income is not up to the mark and he is using cash assets to boost it.

Edit to add: He might want to get a tax return transcript from the IRS and use instead of the tax return. It is more verified since it comes from IRS records.

On Form 1040

Line 37 is adjusted gross income.

Line 43 is taxable income.

Neither of those lines is what USCIS/Embassy use to establish a sponsor's income.

It is Line 22 Total Income.
