Hello,

My husband is in the state now and he moved to live in a hotel temporarily to be near his job place.........he is looking for a house to move to before i get there and its difficult with our pets and also we want a contract for only 6 months ..........till today we still didnt find any place and he didn't change the address we have in our case wish is an apartment he was sharing with his brother before he move to this hotel and his brother still live there

My questions is should we just leave the old adresse and explain the situation to the consular during the interview ? Or it would be a red flag And we should change it?? And if we should we can't put the hotel adresse it's only temporary?

Please i would appreciate some advices to help with our situation.

Does he still get along with his brother? Will his brother let him know about any mail he receives at the house?

When do you plan on going to the US?

I think if he is just staying in a hotel for a couple weeks until he can find some place, it's really not a big deal and I would not bother changing the address. If he no longer gets on with his brother, perhaps he can get a PO Box to get mail at and let USCIS know to deliver mail there until you have a permanent address.

I don't see why looking for a new place would be a red flag?

Yes he is living in the hotel just for few weeks and same time looking for a place as i said. And he is very close to his brother so of course he will let us know if they sent us anything  . My concern is if the consular asked me about my husband adresse wish one i should mention his brother place wish we have in our case or where my husband currently living?

Legally he needs to update his address with USCIS within 10 days. I would just get a PO box for a bit, or use the actual hotel's address. The form is really simple. If it's for a few weeks, I wouldn't bother with the post office though.

If he has a sponsor and the sponsor moves, the sponsor sorry also needs to update his or her address.

No we don't have a sponsor, he make more than the required salary ( he is a government employee) so we are good on that part the only complicated thing is with the adresse as i mentioned . We are waiting for my interview date and honestly i keep thinking what if the consular will understand our situation or not .

My guess is u keep his old address with his brother which is a legal one and its on the files already.and currently as u said he is in hotel for a temporary period .like a vacation think about it this way.make things easy for yourself .dont panic

If he signed a lease for house or apt or bought a house then u are forced to use new address.

can not be a PO address as the street address must be on the packet she carries thru POE

and she has to answer the question as to where she will live and match the packet address

keep the bother's physical address as u need it but u will have to have a flight to that nearby airport

BTW  Did you get the interview and approval?

i know you are waitning since August for interview

Thank you for your reply we decided to keep his brother adresse and if the consular asked me that's what im going to reply with.

For the interview we are still waiting, last time the NVC contacted us was by an e-mail in August letting us know they sent our case to the embassy and tell us to wait till they can find us an available date. So we are still waiting and hoping to hear from them soon .

He doesn't need to change the address, he can leave it with his brother since this is temporary. Once he has an apartment then ofcourse he needs to update the USCIS, right now they don't need to know anything as this is temporary.

USCIS says within 10 days.
