It isn't "ransom"...it's a delivery fee...that is determined by what the deliverer believes the letter may be worth.  It's all a very complicated calculation.  They actually open packages to make sure they "calculate" correctly.  The cost does not include the confiscated items (chocolate and money).  NEVER SEND MONEY THROUGH PHILPOST!!!!

DO NOT insure the mail at USPS either.  The insurance ends as soon as the letter leaves the country.  Trust me.  I found out the hard way.

Yep.  But you can't get US FedEx to ship to all parts of the Philippines.

FedEx is a retail partner..useful to get packages out of the Philippines to other parts of the world..the other way around..not so much.

It's kind of like how UPS offloads packages to USPS.

One would think if 2Go could deliver a package to FedEx in the Philippines, the reverse would be true.

But, as in the case of 6547, won't happen.

However, 2Go does go to 6547.

Reminds me so much of my home state.

You don't wanna use fedex there's always DHL and I find that they are really good to go into mindanao.

If you have a LBC location near you try that. If not my next choice is DHL. I sent a cell phone through them and declared that it was a cell phone and it made it there with no problems. If you can't find a way to use either of those I would use FedEX. All 3 are very reliable but due to cost FedEx the last on my list. I don't think there is anyplace in the Philippines that LBC does not deliver. The other 2 you need to check as neither one is everywhere.
