Can medical be done in a different country?

My fiance lives in the UK but is from Poland. More than likely he will be sent to Poland to have his interview. Can he do his medical with an approved consular doctor in the UK and take his packet to Poland for the interview?

Why would he be sent to Poland for his interview? Did you not put his actual embassy location in the packet, and does he have a valid visa for the UK?

He is a resident of Poland not of the UK. He has lived in the UK for the past 10 years. But from what I have researched they will send your packet to the country that you are a resident of even if you dont live there. I saw this in another thread and it's on the USCIS website.

If the beneficiary has a visa or is a VALID resident of a country then yes they can interview within that country. If not then the beneficiary will have to go back to their country in order to do medical and the interview.

If he has lived in the uk for the past ten years how is he not a resident there? Do you mean that as he is a citizen of Poland but not the uk? Is he not in the uk legally?

He is an EU citizen. It's part or the Schengen agreement between EU countries. There is no need to have a Visa to work or live in those countries.

Did you write his current UK address in the I129f, and choose the UK consulate?

If so, what makes you think he'll have to interview in Poland?

If for some reason you used a Polish address and selected the Polish consulate, he'll have to interview in Poland. But in that case, I think it's best to have his medical done in Poland as well, because each country has a specific way in which the consulate and doctor work together and communicate.

He legally stays and works in UK, I would contact US embassy in UK and find out.

 

He does medical in the country his interview is going to be held. Bcs each embassy has their own approved physicians.

On the USCIS website it states that you are sent to your country of residence, which is Poland. I out his UK address but in reading on VJ, some folks were still sent to their home country. I was just wondering if anyone had a experience.

That's what we might do. Just checking on here to see if anyone has had that experience. We dont care where the interview is but we are thinking in terms of the traveling back and forth in this regard.

If he's lived in the UK for 10 years legally, I don't see how he wouldn't be a legal resident of the UK. They'll send it to the consulate that does K-1s for the most recent address you listed, which it sounds like will be in the UK, so it will be London.

If he has lived in the UK legally for 10 years, he is a resident in the UK. If you wrote his UK address and the UK consulate, why would he be interviewed in Poland?

I think you are confusing citizenship and residence. Can you post a link to a VJ post that led you to believe there is a chance he will interview in Poland?

You have to apply for residency and for most its unnecessary.

You are talking about the residence card. As a EU citizen, he does not need that card to be a legal resident.
