If more people read this info before interview, they would e better prepared to argue their point (politely) before they got into a situation like you.

Absolutely. There is so much misinformation floating around, and I often feel overwhelmed by it all - but it's important to educate yourself. I think if the IO had said something at the interview itself re the flu jab I may have questioned it, but because I thought it was all rosy until I got the second follow-up call an hour later, it threw me off-guard. But I'll be highlighting the relevant bits and taking all of this to the infopass.

If your DS-3025 vaccination sheet had a waiver marked for "not flu season" then that is supposed to be good enough. Also, it is still not flu season so anybody interviewing prior to Oct 1 does not need a flu shot. You really had two ways out of the shot. I think the guy just didn't know his stuff. Go to an infopass.

@Rose_3001I was going to mention this also. Technically it is not yet Flu session and typically the Flu vaccine is only required during Flu session during the medicals.

**It is an always changing vaccine from year to year that is trying to predict the Flu strands of the year. I work in a hospital that requires the Flu vaccine before Flu session and our vaccinations don't even begin until next week at work.

Hi @Wuozopo & everyone else who has commented - to give an update. I finally received an RFE in the mail (even though there was no record on the USCIS systems of one having been sent out). Rather than saying that I am missing vaccinations, the RFE asks for a full medical on the basis that my medical completed in March 2017 has now expired.

The letter says: 'Starting June 1, 2014, USCIS changed the policy on Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. The new policy states that all Forms I-693 are valid for only one year from the date submitted to us. The policy also states that the form I-693 must be submitted within one year of the medical exam. The form I-693 that you submitted does not meet both of these requirements. Please return to a USCIS Civil Surgeon to have a new medical exam.'

I know there is a lot of misinformation about this. Some people seem to get away without having to redo their medical - looks like I'm an unlucky one. I submitted the form within a year of the medical exam, but since it's been just over a year since submitted (August 2017), it's now out of date. At least I've got some communication now from USCIS with next steps. I hope it doesn't drag on for too much longer once I've redone the medical.
