Is the law changing to guilty until proven innocent?

An allegation with no proof is supposed to be enough to destroy someone's life. If he is not deemed good enough to sit on the supreme court as a result of this does it mean he is not fit to ever precide over another trial in a different court?

According to the esteemed senator from Hawaii, yes, at least for her political opponents.

I don't know, tell me how many folks have no problem pronouncing everything a conspiracy, but that is totally different, right?

The confirmation hearing isn't about proving to guilty or innocence. It is just a job interview, where the standard for proof is much less than in a court of law.

Kavanaugh should withdraw himself from proceedings, then if he feels that he has been wronged, then by all means sue to clear his name. Afterwards, he will be eligible for the supreme Court once again.

Let the Thursday hearing go forth and hold a vote and let the chips fall where they may.  No need for Kavanaugh to withdraw since the Dems were not going to vote for him anyway and the unsubstantiated allegations don’t appear to be swaying the fence sitting Republicans.

This is about the dems trying to stall the appointment until after the Mid terms. Nothing else

Not that it matters because the mid terms aren't going to go good for them with all the main line liberals that are disillusioned by their childish behavior.

Well yes, it couldn't possibly be about Democratic voters demanding that an alleged sexual offender not be appointed to the most important legal body in the country. Must surely be political opportunism, because that's what Republicans would do if the shoe was on the other proverbial foot, right?

As usual the Republican party never ever , ever, holds itself to the same standards it holds everyone else to.

How about choosing a supreme Court Justice on the basis of compromise, instead of just ramming through the candidate that will be counted on do the right's bidding.

Merrick Garland was pretty middle of the road, but it was decided that a supreme Court Justice should not be appointed before an election, but how dare anyone oppose their flawed candidate.

Strange, I don't recall anything about him not fully releasing his case records, or any cases of sexual abuse allegations. Kavanaugh is middle of the road, but Garland is far left? You guys are seriously reaching.

To be fair, Garlands career was ruined by not even holding a hearing. I say ruined, because apparently that's what happens if a judge isn't made a supreme Court Justice. Hey, I didn't make these rules, so don't be angry at me.

Was there any cases of sexual assault that he ever had to answer for before Feinstein found Ford?  Garland was of the same mold as Kagan, Sotomayor and Ginsberg.  Btw, compromise works both ways and I cannot remember the last time the Dems compromised with anyone.  Lastly, Kavanaugh has a large amount of opinions readily available, and whether or not he released any other attorney client privileged information, the Dems were not going to vote for him anyway, heck, they tried similar tactics on Gorsuch to the point that McConnell had to follow the lead of the Dems and get rid of the filibuster for SCOTUS votes.  Whatever, some will never see how the Dems will do anything to try and control things.  Hopefully they will lose in November.
