Hey guys, so my fiance and i got married in Aug (yay) and will be moving out of state(MA) Oct 1st.

We are ready to file our AOS paperwork, but are wondering if we should use the address in our current state (TX, my parents so it will still get mail), or put the address up in MA?

I dont mind keeping the address in TX so everything is more uniform(my reason for keeping it in TX), but i think that would create issues with the i765 (Temp work) correct?

Also i know if we kept the filing in TX we would have to fly back for Biometrics / interview which isnt an issue.

Thank you!

Ah okay. we actually haven't filed yet (filling out the paperwork now), so we will just use MA then.

Definitely switch to MA. AOS is completed in a few months there, compared to years in Texas. You definitely want it in the MA office. Only one faster is Montana I believe. Detroit has been knocking them out in 5-6 months also.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Different field offices process AOS at different speeds based on the number of petitions they have to do. Houston is one of the longest at like 22-24 months. I'm sure MA doesn't have anything to do, or many petitions to process, there are timelines you can search to see how fast different offices process AOS. I'll see if I can find a link and post it here.

Here is the link, Boston is 10 -18 months I think it was, Houston is 18-26.5 months. Detroit is 9-13.5 I think it was. Check any city you want. These are rough estimates from USCIS, so you know how reliable they are, but I know there were people posting here that AOS was completed in 5-6 months in Detroit. Some people were getting their green card before EAD/AP.

Do it in MA because that is where you will be living. During the K1 we used my parent's address in NC, and once she came to the USA we got married then moved to CA right away. We filed for AOS in CA and did AOS and ROC there in CA with no issues.

This is a non-issue so don't worry about it.
