AOS FOR A K-2

We are in the process of adjusting my 7 year old step daughter.

Her Notice Date is April 10, 2018.

On August 23 I received an email that her case is ready to be scheduled for her  I485 only..

No mention of her I-131 or i-765. Do children get all 3 at the after their interview?

 

My husband did this same process a year ago and had everything within the 90 days and no interview in Chicago, so the wait time for a 7 year old is a bit frustrating!

 

Any insight would be appreciated!

Lucky~ Most people are waiting a year or longer for AOS nowadays. Your office must not be backlogged.

 

They don't need AP or an EAD...if the I-485 is approved, the green card supersedes both of them.

Out of curiosity, does it say that they have scheduled an interview, or just that it is ready to be scheduled?

 

Most of us adjusting status are at the 'ready to be scheduled' phase, but that doesn't mean much. You need to look at how long the estimated time is at your local office to get a better idea for when her GC interview will be.

As of August 23, 2018, we are ready to schedule your Form I485.. is what it says...

 

Seriously I am ok waiting but really would like the AP for traveling..

 

My notices came from the National Benefits Center in Lee's Summit, MO. I do not see that office to check on the processing times.

Yeah, so what that means is that while they are ready to schedule the interview, it does not mean that it is immediate.

 

They've been ready to schedule my husband's interview since July.

 

Your interview will be done at the field office nearest you, I believe. When did you get your NOA1 for the AP? That will likely get approved first.

Okay, so maybe not that lucky after all...as stated above, that status just means they are ready to schedule an interview, not that they have actually scheduled one. My wife's status updated to that the first week of 2018 and her interview is next month (~10 months afterwards).

Has anyone else from the April 2018 AOS thread had their AP approved? I thought those were starting to trickle in. Your day may be coming soon.
