Hi Everyone,

I'm in the process of gathering evidences for our good faith marriage. I received my RFE letter around August 20, 2018 and we have until Nov 3, 2018 to submit our documents.

I would like to help your input and advice on our CAR Insurance policy. We just recently move to  a new address - since that's what USCIS requiring us and gather our own bills showing our both names. The auto insurance were able to put my name in the car policy insurance - though I'm not driving yet but eventually later I will. We are also about toichange our address in our car policy auto insurance and they said because we live in an area that has increase rate - our car insurance increase from $240  to $396 - it too due to our change of zipcode, it's too high for us. The auto insurance suggest us if we still go to our old address - since it's y husband's mom house we still go --they said they will let us retain our old address in the policy, since both of our name was appearing there in the policy. My question, is it necessary for us to change our address in the car insurance policy to our new address ??? because we want to avoid paying high rate of insurance. I really don't the impact of this on our documents. Your input and advice are highly appreciated.

That sounds like insurance fraud to me and I’m surprised the insurance company has allowed it.  The reason different zip codes have different rates is based on the calculated risk of a claim. Your new zip code either has a higher rate of car theft or vandalism or more accidents or something else that means people in that zip code are statistically more likely to file a claim than people who live in your mother-in-law’s zip code.

Well it is your choice to update the address or not, but if you choose not to update the address, and later whatever reason the car accident occurs, the auto insurance company may decline insurance benefit IF they find you willingly and knowingly not update the address in order to avoid the high premium. If no accident occurs, yeah, who cares? but if it occurs, then it is not easy to get the insurance benefits, and then what is the point of paying premium except it is required by laws in some states? (It is better to just donate money to non-charity, isn't it?)

The choice is yours, and so is the consequences and following responsibilities. All I can say is auto insurance companies, a group of highly educated math and statistics PhD employees, are not easy to outsmart this way, who also have numerous and outflying cases that sometimes outsmart, and they constantly change the terms and condition in order to their thrive in the business market.

For goodness sake!  Do what you need to do to show bona fide relationship. I’m sure you can come up with something other than incorrect insurance documents!

Hi everyone,

I received an RFE for for my I-751 application, one of our requirements is Evidence the me and my husband made arrangement with each other such as will, trust or durable power of attorney for health. So I'm preparing what so called in California, Advance Health Care Directive, since every state varies. I'd like to know if, I can only use a free copy from the internet or do I really need to buy the form? because there are free in the internet or just copy the wording. They said I can make my own directive, as long as it is witness by two people or notarized. Your input on this matter is highly appreciated. Thank you so much for all your help.

Sincerely,
