All this is good advice.  I would add that you make sure your husband take financial support documents, and proof of US domicile, your income in the US or future job there, sponsor documents, etc. since you live in Morocco with him this could be an issue in the interview.  And coach him on the typical questions asked, which it sounds like you've done.  There are many stories on VJ of interviews where the person hesitated when asked a question or didn't know a fact on the I-130.  From what I've read about that consulate, they can be tougher than others in this regard.  Best of luck!

Agreed and agreed. The financial part is important as the USC has resided outside the States and does not have an income here.

I have a Co sponsor and I also provided enough evidence for proof of domicile. I provided all of that to NVC. I’m hoping to secure a job teaching once we move to the States.

Start applying now and show evidence. There are sites like Pareap where you submit your resume with cover letter.

You submit your Cert and subject you can teach and they will email you job notifications. Good luck

I always say that living together is the gold medal when it comes to evidence of a bona fide relationship. And in your case that's definitely true. You have a very strong, solid case.

Thank you! I didn't know how much weight living together would have on our overall case, but I'm glad that you think it's solid. Less stress on the both of us for sure.

To me it sounds you did good research before filing and that will benefit you at the interview. The fact that you have spent a lot of time together will help. As long as your husband can confidently and correctly answer the CO's questions, I would expect an approval.

I agree with this she did some damn good research and put enough evidence together that it is almost irrefutable. Now the OP is just getting jitters which is perfectly understandable and I was the same way.

@Uoas I would start working with your husband on the questions they may ask and help him with being confident about the answers. Some COs will start drilling down if they start hearing a interviewee acting like they may not know the answer to simple questions that about the relationship or your family.

Did you do wedding or only katb ketab ?

We signed kitaab al kitaab on April 30th so we were legally married in Morocco. We had a “small party” by Moroccan standards with family and some neighbors .

We decided to have the actual wedding celebrations in December 2017 because more of his and my family could attend.

Haha thank you. What really motivated us was when I casually asked a lawyer how much it would cost to help us with the immigration process and he quoted $500/hour. Needless to say I decided to become our immigration lawyer lol

His English is pretty good so I’m not worried about comprehension but I will definitely do some drills and practice before. He speaks very calmly so I don’t think any type of aggression tactics would work on him. It’s good to know about the drilling part. Hopefully we will be prepared!

That's good to hear about his English. You know they can use Arabic or French there right? But it probably would be better in English for the interview. The drilling is good because you know some people speak decent English until they get flustered and then sometimes revert back to their native language. My wife is like that in all honesty.

Yeah I used a service for my then fiance's K1 visa only because I was working in Afghanistan at the time. But for her AOS and ROC I did it myself and it was pretty easy. I am thinking about starting a service for NC that would be cheaper than a lawyer.

I did go to a consultation for a local lawyer and they wanted to charge me a base price of $3000, so I used a visa service for $1k which at the time I though was a bargain.

Yea, you can’t get married in Morocco without going to the US consulate and filing other legal paperwork. I have a Moroccan visa so I didn’t need to redo certain legal paperwork because it was already on file.

Looks good from what you tell us

Did you file US tax returns while working out of the country ?

Do you have the 125% poverty level needed?

Do you have the necessary US residency?

don't need to answer me this is what i don't see about your petition

you won't need any additional photos at the interview but take them if it makes u feel more comfortable

good luck

I actually should mention this as I didn’t provide it in my original message. It’s also good because this could help other VJ members out who are preparing their cases and are in a similar situation.

I have a co sponsor since I couldn’t meet the financial requirement on my own.Teacher’s salary ftw! Lol   I have filed taxes for the past three years and have various proofs for domicile (voter card, bank statements, letters etc), all which were accepted by NVC.

Thanks! We’re hoping it goes smoothly and I’ll definitely bring more photos just in case they ask to see any! 😊
