do you have any documents to substantiate your claim? If so follow it. Otherwise you should bring this up at the interview with the CO and let them know that you are confused on how to answer that question.

@Greenbaum, I hope you don’t mind me repeating this question.. So should he bring it up initially with the Indian  CO or to the US CO. Also should he volunteer if nothing is asked about previous visa application / approval / travel ?

Don't volunteer anything. Wait for the question and then give short and to the point questions. Giving a rambling answer can only lead you to a place you do not want to go. Be truthful with your answers and if you don't know the answer to a question it is OK to say you don't know the answer. Remember short and to the point. Keep in mind you do not have a wedding venue picked out. No plans. Discussed yes planned no. India can be very funny with this line of questioning. They are set up to be land mines so just be careful.

Ok. @GreenbaumThe reason I wanted to clarify was that in the previous post you mentioned he should bring it up with the CO ..,so I wasn’t sure if he should volunteer it & say we were confused while filling Ds160 or just wait till a question regarding it gets asked .

(this is the situation just to help you understand better. My fiancé had applied for a student visa 30 yrs ago but it was never processed due to him not providing the documents they asked & nor following up. So all his old passport says is visa applied. Doesn’t say anything abt denied. So when we filled DS160 we said no to prior visa denial )

Through out the interview do not volunteer information EXCEPT you can asked for changes to the DS-160. I hope this is a better understanding. If not let's get it clarified better for you.

my fiance's interview in coming up for this thursday,

- sent her my I-134, tax returns 2017 and 2016, as ive not filed 2018 yet.
- IRS transcripts for 2017 and 2016
- Pay stubs from Feb 8th, 2019 to Nov 25th, 2018

- I work for HealthCare company, so it uses Work Day Number for income/job verifications.. so sent a screenshot print from theworknumber.com and a print from the page in black n white showing the url at the bottom with https

also, sent a wedding plan registration at Hindu Temple , which i Booked possible dates for marriage document.

is this good enough? anything missing?

@ujones @Greenbaum @K@S @Knome

I was carrying I-134, tax returns, W2's, paystubs, letter signed by bank-manager showing bank-balance, letter of employment from the employer but only I-134, W2's & tax-returns were taken by the Indian-staff & everything else was given back to me, so presumably, that's what the Indian-staff were instructed to do by the CO's. Concrete wedding-plans might go in your favor but then, every CO might have their own way of interpreting things. Good luck to you guys!

My fiancee had sent me only 2 years' tax return (2018 & 2017) since she had been doing a full-time professional course in 2016. The Indian-staff only asked for "financial documents", & I provided everything that I had, & they didn't ask for anything else. Nonetheless, if one has 3 years' tax returns, then it might be useful to carry them, that's what Rapidvisa had told us to do, so we were slightly concerned but the guidelines seem to suggest that only the RECENT YEAR's tax return should be good enough.

Do the Same Income Requirements Apply to Form I-134 as Apply to Form I-864?

No. The 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline minimum income requirement, the most recent year's tax return, and other requirements only apply when Form I-864 is needed. Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline.
