Just read a case about Pakistani fiancé got rejected as the co thought they were too married d/t a picture of them together in hill resort where they stayed for a day. @K1journey_16, @K@S, did they ask you any similar questions from any pictures ?

Spending time alone at a hill-resort while being unmarried is likely highly uncommon within any conservative culture (& this would probably apply to India as well but maybe not to the same degree as Pakistan), so one would have to have a good explanation for that, otherwise it's bound to look fishy to the CO; & maybe that couple's story didn't offer a good explanation regarding such a seeming anomaly, & that's why their visa was rejected. As for me, no, I didn't even need to show pictures, so there were no questions about pictures. I was never even asked as to whether my fiancee & I are married, not even once; on the other hand, it seems like @K1journey_16 was repeatedly asked about whether she was married with her fiance. I'm going to guess that this was probably due to the information that we ended up projecting towards our respective COs, since @K1journey_16 looked like how one might expect a conservative person to look like whereas in my case, I had told the CO that my fiancee & I are both atheists who don't follow cultural/religious norms (during the ring-ceremony question, early on in my interview), & maybe that influenced CO's perceptions about each one, resulting in a somewhat different approach that both of our respective CO's had decided to take. So, it's good to keep in mind that whatever information we are providing to the CO, whether in writing/documentation or the way we dress or the way we speak or the content of our speech, & so on, might be used by the CO to construct their own perception of who we are, & questions might be asked along those lines to see if we can offer them a consistent & coherent "picture" of our relationship through our answers, body-language, etc.; & of course, anything that seemingly doesn't "fit", might cause the CO to be on their guard.

Nothing there that talks about getting denied. Maybe the wrong thread?

@Greenbaum

I keep posting this link but I think it’s not getting saved for some reason or I’m doing something wrong. But I hve to say after following his thread there seems like a lot of missing points in his story. Something isn’t matching & maybe that’s what CO felt too

Congratulations. Be sure to look it over for any mistakes if none then book the flights and get out of Dodge. (old western movie line) :joy:

Probably i was the only one that had issues at the airport (mumbai)on april 17, 2018 with k1 visa..🙄 The employees were so clueless there and didn't issue boarding passes telling me i need ESTA to travel and they couldn't find my info on their computer lol  😭 i cried my eyes out for an hour and headed towards the exit with my then fiance to cancel our flight and to stay back until the issue gets sorted out then a higher level employee came to us and asked to see my visa again then made few calls to someone and finally issued boarding passes..they didn't even apologise.. it wasn't a pleasant experience..

@Greenbaum. I’m getting my papers ready to fly to India for interview. Hope you don’t mind reviewing my documents just to make sure I’m not forgetting something that I should take with me . As a petitioner who’s retired on Ssdi & pension the following is what I hve gotten ready

1.I-134

2.benefit statements from ssdi & employer

2018 tax transcripts & 1099’s from ssdi & pension

3.Bank statements showing deposits of above incomes & my savings account bank letter & statements

4. Also hve last two years tax transcripts & 1099’s if they ask

5.I also hve wedding plan details if they ask & home equity documents ( which not sure if primary residence equity counts )

Greenbaum, sorry if you have answered this question million times before but it’s such a huge relief to get a confirmation from you.

@Srinath06, to me it sounds pretty good but will wait for @Greenbaumto comment. I am also taking my 2018 tax details & income details so I don’t know if u should send ur w2’s from 2018 to show ur current income. Even though I may not need it for safety purpose decided to take my savings account info too. But again as Greenbaum says ,if ur income level is way above the guidelines U don’t need it .. Along with wedding plans I also made a list of guest for just in case they ask. Good luck to your fiancé. Keep us posted.

Don't forget to take the kitchen sink! :jest:

Whatever the P3 ask for is what you need to present at the interview. Anything more is just not going to be seen. You'll have 5 to 10 min tops in front of the CO. They don't want to see your cat's new litter. Leave the wedding plan documents in the folder. If you are ask if you have wedding plans the answer is "that we have talked about it, and have discussed some venues but without a confirmed visa it's hard to make concrete plans" or something to that. Your letting them know the two of you talked about it but you are aware of the uncertainties that go along with the visa process. P.S. The won't be asking for a guest list.
