@Greenbaum and everyone, we didn't have any ceremony, but he bought a diamond ring for me after the case was forwarded to NVC, is it safe to take the pictures and the receipt with date showing it as a part of the wedding plan

I said it once and I'll say again - Why set yourself up for problems. Don't show the photos of rings or celebrations. Just picture with family and traveling together is enough. Why do you want to set yourself up to fail. Haven't you endured enough "pain" to get here? Oy Vey. (smack my palm to my forehead)

@Greenbaum, on getting documents ready for interview I hve a few questions. Please help me solve this

1. I hve already submitted separately signed intent of marriage with I-129 , but we need a new one right ? Does it have to be notarized ?

2) I have already submitted how we met from both of us , do we need another one for interview ?

3) Only need the form 1090 from the tax papers right ? Do not need the entire papers ?

TIA

Q1 you don't need a letter of intent UNLESS it is on the P3 letter. Nothing gets notarized UNLESS it is on the P3 letter.

Q2 what does the P3 letter require. Do only what do will do.

Q3 if you can get a IRS transcript you can use it in lieu of a complete 1040 with schedules.

I have met him only in 2017, no engagement ring ceremony, only one picture with family from 2017 and we didn't travel together, no in person meetings in the last 21 months, no pictures together, no other proof apart from phone logs and chat screenshots

You will use the family photo and the phone logs and chat screenshots. Of course you will bring along copies of his travel receipts, airline tickets (not boarding passes). Think of anything that will prove that you are a couple and you have met in person and have had an ongoing relationship since meeting.

@Lonegirl, do u hve any recommendations for hotel near embassy other than trident ?

I didn't stay at a hotel. I prefer Airbnb, so I booked a shared apartment in Bandra West. I paid for a week what you would for a day in Trident ;) Airbnb does have some great apartments, but they get booked easily, so you have to book at least a month in advance.

I always wear the ring he proposed to me with, so when CO asked about the proposal, I simply said that he proposed to me with this ring and I said yes. That's it. No ceremony or anything. I saw candidates bringing huge photo albums with thousands of pictures of engagement parties and stuff. They even insist the CO to take a look at the photos, even when they don't ask for it. I found almost all of them getting denied. Being prepared is okay, but showing them that you're desperate for the visa is definitely a big no.

@Greenbaum, I hve a situation where I might not be able to schedule an interview till May. I actually had the interview scheduled for March & medical /ofc next month. But if the interview is not till May should I reschedule medical /ofc ? How long is both good for ?

Medical is good for 6 months for the visa, 1 year for the AOS filing after marriage.

Yes I can think of what else is needed. Take out the P3 letter from your embassy and use it as a checklist. That way you are not missing anything. I for one do not keep track of how Embassy's handle different items and what they want. I try to remember only the things that are general to all embassies.

Here is example. Most embassies ask for only the most current year of taxes. I have heard of only one embassy requiring the intent of marriage letter. Here is what I have for financials.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.
