hello @Greenbaum   , I need some help , could you please tell me that why thr is nothing clearly mentioned in packet 4 about what all documents I need to bring to interview for my daughter's k2 visa ? only below statement is mentioned :

What if a family member wants to apply for their visa later?

If you have a family member who qualifies to immigrate now but intends to stay in India longer than you, bring the following documents to your interview:

1. Original birth certificate for your family member, as well as a clear photocopy. 2.

A passport-size photograph of your family member.

3. Passport or other government-issued photo identification for your family member.

If you are a K via applicant, your child must apply for and be issued a visa within one year of the date you are issued a visa.

Is this depends on the country? is it different or same for other countries? I want to ask this because in this letter nowhere its mentioned that i need to bring a consent letter from father or not for my daughter's K2.

Each embassy is different based on the prevailing laws of that country. I would highly recommend contacting the embassy for more details to was is required. I would believe that a court divorce where child custody is agreed to by both parties and a notarized Travel Consent would satisfy both the embassy, air lines and immigration. Your mileage may vary.

I have a few questions for which I could not find answer in this thread

1)Do I have to send a copy of the entire 1-129F documents or just the application form ?

2) if I have already submitted engagement proof , photos of our time together & letters from family will the CO ask for it again ?

3) Is it possible to make credit card payment for interview by the petitioner or does that has to be done from India itself ?

1)Do I have to send a copy of the entire 1-129F documents or just the application form ? You don't need to send another copy because 1) the embassy has it in their system and 2) there is nothing contained in the P3 asking you to provide said document. Have you read the P3 for your embassy. The links have been posted in this thread before.

2) if I have already submitted engagement proof , photos of our time together & letters from family will the CO ask for it again ? Again, this question is answered in the P3.

3) Is it possible to make credit card payment for interview by the petitioner or does that has to be done from India itself ? Again, the payment question is answered in the P3.

Here is the letter that you will receive from Mumbai Embassy. Read it over carefully and follow the instructions. Another member of VJ added some additional information contained below which outlines what he experienced.

Once you received your case number from NVC,  I would recommend you fill out DS-160 form and submit. Some say the packet 3 letter is nothing just waste of time same thing they have mention which you easily get from USCIS website when you called to the clinics to book your medical appointment date they will ask you have you received your packet letter or not. Just say yes and booked the appointment date however you will receive that letter within 2 weeks the day you will get your NVC number.

Go on USCIS website make your account with password and then pay your fees to Citibank or Axis bank. They will give you reference number. With that number you can book your biometric and interview appointment date. The fees are 18,500 and for medical but I recommend that you carry 20,000 with you in the event you need more. Be sure to  keep at least 7 days gap between medical and interview.

@Greenbaum Thankyou. So I’m assuming relationship proof they are looking for is from the time I applied for 1-129 F upto interview as I have already submitted everything up until then

Yes, additional proof of the relationship comes at the interview and can be a variety of items to establish that you continue to have a relationship with the eventual intent to marry including proof that you and the bendificiary are still free to marry.

PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP. Submit documents that further establish your relationship with the petitioner such as personal photographs with the petitioner taken over a period of time as well as personal correspondence.

Hi All!

I need to submit the DS 160 and at the end of the submission and I need to sign and certify that I have received the IMBRA PAMPHLET.

"It basically has a letter + instructions + your original i129f package + imbra pamphlet, domestic violence pamphlet  etc. This packet comes via postal mail n takes about 10 days after your case is ready as per NVC website." (NCV case status ready on 12/13/2018), so do I have to wait for the packet 4 and only then certify and submit the  DS1 60 OR can I just certify now ?

Thank you all

What is the original Appointment letter that is needed for medical (as mentioned in the forums)?   I just emailed USTravelDocs and hoping to get something back.  I am concerned because I have seen some people in the forum having issues without the "original appointment letter".

The length generally depends on the cause of the RFE. "Simple" RFEs (missing checkbox, missing letter of intent, etc.) generally take days to a couple weeks IMO. More complex ones (i.er. if verification of documents needs to be done) can take weeks or months. After 60 days you can submit a case inquiry.

When you schedule your interview appointment then print off the appointment confirmation page and that now becomes your "original appointment letter". Read the links I posted a few posts above. And also, start from the beginning of this thread and take your time reading. You will have a better insight on what to do and when since others have shared their experience.

Thank you, Sir 🙏

Before I posted for help here, I had sent email to US Travel Docs for the mentioned letter/Packet 4 etc.  We are clear on the original appoitment letter issue (thx 😇); Now this is about the physical file not received yet at Mumbai. I tracked the packet using DHL and belive it was delivered on Dec 31.

My request to them (US Travel Docs) was:

"Can you please send me Packet 4 packet/"appointment letter" via email? I am requesting this to be able to complete medical exam. "

Their Reply today:

Thank you for your inquiry. We have only received your case electronically at our Mumbai Post. However, we are still awaiting the physical file. We will get in touch with you, once we are in receipt of the physical file.

Should I be concerned about scheduling interview as they are saying they are waiting for the Physical FIle??   Should I not schedule interview yet or schedule far in future like Feb 15 instead of anything that may come up in few weeks?

So far: Once the case became "Ready", I filled and submitted DS160, made profile and my fiance has paid K1-visa fee.  I am trying to score a spot 2-3 weeks from now; The next available date for interview is Feb 15 @ Mumbai.

If you want to snag it out I think you should be pretty safe with 2/15. From others, what are there timelines showing. Is it a safe bet?

Did you book a one-way ticket or a return ticket to the US? Will there be a problem if I book a one-way ticket? And when the sealed envelope was opened, did you get to see the contents?  😁

Hi,

I got a one way ticket and had no problem at all. Even I was a little apprehensive but had no problem. When the Officer opens the envelope - it just has a copy of your i129 petition, i134 form + evidences , passport photos and some other palers.

I'm am not knowledgeable with individual embassies. So I am going to have to take a pass. Here is a forum where those from the Mumbai Consulate are applying with good information. Try asking your question there or wait for a reply from @A_R.
