I feel a little odd about going back to Canada. Prolly cause hubs vetoed.  In return he is going to my work xmas party. He doesnt want to.

So i dont know what is is about my work but either i have to live up to some insanely high standard or else im useless and doing nothing.  Other people get a card on their 1 year anniversary, but not me.  Other people have allowances for having not finished training and get overtime to do it, but i help them out and get in trouble and have to explain every minute im working past 40 hours.  Im really frustrated. I can't get the training done, (at least they already gave me a raise) and im being tsked on left and right. I dont get it. Im really glad for a holiday.

I wonder of my depression is getting worse due to the time of the year.

Seasonal Affective Disorder is a real thing. Is getting a sunlight lamp an option for you, whether at work or at home? The lack of Vitamin D could be a contributing factor.

As for your work situation, I hope it works out. I'm a little overwhelmed at my job, too. 2 more weeks to my first anniversary here, and I have so much on my plate and never enough time to do it. Maybe it's because I'm currently on VJ... Hmmmmmm... 🤔

Either way, safe journey!

Colorado still gets a lot of sun during the winter.   Even here in Minnesota, we get enough winter sun to kind of make the SAD thing not a big deal.  Our local library does have one of those sun lamps that anyone can use, though.  I think it is generally more a problem further north, like in Canada or Scandinavia, where the angle of insolation is smaller.    Denver is on the same latitude as southern Italy after all.

Maybe it is just the stagnation and work frustration that are doing it?

So, I've been sick and busy on and off for 2 months and done nothing towards my capstone class in my major.  Now I have like 3 or 4 weeks to get it all done.  I'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly reviewing some of the classes is going, anything calc III or before I can do in my sleep.  However, I'm really trudging through these more advanced classes that I took years and years ago.  It hurts, a lot.   Aaaaaand I still haven't started my term paper that is due in less than 3 weeks.  I think it'll be fine because it is on mathematical physics, but I'm still sick, it isn't my only class, and this sucks.

Italy is overrun with tourists, which seems to be an increasing problem globally.  I'd rather go to Colorado any day.

It is definitely going around.  My mother came in last weekend and she came down with the sore throat and cough yesterday.  I worry about it at her age because it has been kicking my butt.  My lack of sleep and breastfeeding might be contributing to my not so great immune response, but older people are more susceptible to these types of things.

Mr. Lobster has bronchitis and a sinus infection at the moment, so I think it's pretty widespread. 🙃

Only things that seemed really swamped while we were there were the Vatican museums and the line to climb the Duomo in Florence. Of course, it was February, and kind of cold (at least to long-time SoCal  resident me, though despite being Russian it seemed like Anastasia was more concerned with bundling me up in the cold :bonk:)...
