Let's see, see man:  Vienna - Guadalajara - Hamburg - Bismarck - Canberra - Krakow - Ouagadougou - Fort Lauderdale - Minsk - Adak - Puntas Arenas - Johannesburg - Hooterville.  (Got it, first try, whee man!)

And you go to bed this long after midnight, as we shall, si QA ma'am!

Seems right. Better get started, that itinerary will take the best part of 33 days :D

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Our local elections aren't party based.  It has been a contentious school board race this year.  I went to the debate, I read their ads.  One of the candidates is really pissing me off.  He's new and put a lot of money into it, lawn signs, ads in the paper all the time etc.  However, I've yet to once hear him state any positions on anything.  It is just like "I'm a farmer and went to school here, vote for me."  That is apparently a common argument from the candidates, but at least the others had some substance.

I have a bit of a problem, I watch all of the debates from gubernatorial to local representatives.  Depending on the year, I'm one of the people that votes to endorse candidates from a party.

I didn't vote in 2012 because it seemed like a hassle from abroad and I knew my state was going to go one way in the electoral college.

I'd like it very much if candidates would simply say what they are for, and not why the opposition are horrible  people and a terrible choice.

I find it all a bit wearying. The electioneering  goes on forever here. I am used to a system where the entire thing can be wound up in a couple of months.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Random rant:  girls of the generation younger than mine, I think they are calling them Generation Z (and maybe some baby Millennials thrown in there).  I'm in a class with a couple of them, I've got a few of them as neighbors, and I see them on the nearby college campus all the time.  Why are they dressing so sloppy and not taking care of themselves?  The boys are dressed fine, but these girls are in their physical prime and walking around with sweatpants that look like they've pooped themselves, big sweatshirts, and unkempt hair.

When you show up at someone's place of employment, whether it is a classroom, the doctor, a store, or wherever else, it is generally good form to not look like you've been in bed sick with the flu for a week without showering or changing your clothes.  Respect others, respect yourself, and put some effort in.

Well, the best laid plans. Nothing ever takes as long as you work out it will.

We got to the Vet at 1050 for an 11:00am. Seen at 11:45. Seems the printer was munted, and nobody but the good Doc himself could fix it.  Two office staff hanging about doing some pretty intense hand-wringing, but other than that they were out of their depth. Dog was there for a CBC, and once he had drawn that, he said we could have the results in 15 minutes. Sorry, we could not wait, Himself having an appointment himself an hour away from home at 13:30, and I would have had to bring the dog 20 minutes back here, and then 20 minutes back to the highway.  So, they kept her, and we hit the road, saying we would be back before they shut shop at 17:00

Once on the highway, north bound, we saw a 3 mile tailback on the southbound side. One lane closed, and cars creeping through. Still heaps of time to get back to collect dog.

Except.

Neurologist was running an hour and fifteen minutes behind schedule. Seems the first patient of the day was late, so everyone that followed, and were on time, sat and waited.

And she annoyed the ever loving heck out of me. I dislike being spoken down to. Hate it. "Your husband has some tricky blood pressure problems!"  No kidding, could you be referring to, just perhaps, his autonomic dysreflexia?  "Your husband maybe has some foot trouble?" Indeed he has, you will find if you bothered to read the chart he has diabetic neuropathy.  I swear I rolled my eyes so hard I saw my brain. The upshot of that wasted hour was the same as we were told at Vanderbilt 3 months ago. They have nothing to offer him. And I think I would question it if they did, some backwoods neuro clinic with a Doc that has barely mastered English. Going through the motions. I get that he is a complicated patient, and so medically interesting, but he is also no prize pig on show. We have declined another CT, MRI, ultrasound.

I set an alarm for 15:00, and when it went off I told her we had to leave at once. It's a hike and a half to the carpark. She seemed surprised, little wonder. And of course I got that "You don't come from here, do you." Thank you for the compliment.

Then back on the road, the tailback was less, and we got to the clinic with 15 minutes to spare. The dog is fine, carry on as we have been. She must have heard Himself talking, as soon as she did she lost her mind  in the back room. "Hey Hey Hey! I am back here! Hey! Don't leave me here!"  :D

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I’ve watched several dramas play out at Walmart.....it’s cable tv only free 🤪

I am pretty sure there are people at our local Walmart who can't have looked in the mirror before leaving the house. There was a lady there last week in pj's, with flamingos on them.  I put on my winter dressing gown last night, with pukekos on it, and Himself wanted to know if I was off to the shops :D

Walmart at 2 am here is just Somalis.  They're always dressed up nicely.  Walmart any time is just out of towner Air Force wives and immigrants.

I do 99% of big box store shopping at Target.  It is a classier joint.
