Well Alabama likes hers over cooked. I just wasn't in the mood for steak. Good thing too as the Jedi ate all of mine.

He kept calling it ribs so he started to eat it like that.

Sadly-Still-a-Vertebrate Saturday report, see and ow and sigh man:

Awoke unable to roll out of bed, ow man.

Did a half-hour's worth of exercises atop heating-pad, flexible we man.

Yelled only once or twice while exiting bed, ow man.

Managed to make it downstairs, ow man.

Sat quite still in straight-back chair for about an hour, newspapers to read man.

Was then able to walk while wincing vs. yelling, improvement man.

Set upon GS/ES trail, intrepid we man.

Recruited Cuban dude to carry box of purchases from first ES to trunk of T-B.-mobile, helpful he man.

Navigated most of GS/ES trail until midafternoon, resume ow man.

WCG rather impressed with our pain level & tolerance, rather impressed WCG he man.

Picked up emergency vittles at Costco at behest of Mrs. T-B., dinner party in eve man.

Arrived exhaustedly to deliver same, compliant we man.

Discovered that Mrs. T-B. had swept all our papers/possessions into plastic bags, including bills man.

We had told her not to do any unauthorized cleaning, pre-inform we she man.

Went intensely and lengthily aysheep, justifiably man.

Dragged self upstairs for shower, sweaty aysheep we man.

Massive "guest list" turned out to be just WCG + neighbor chica, much hat no cattle man.

At dinner's end, offered in gentlemanly fashion to limp neighbor chica to the door, gallant we man.

WCG then departed, bye WCG man.

Napped for an hour like an illegitimate male child, exhausted we man.

Again could not lie on left side, ow we man.

Awoke and again couldn't walk, managed not to yell more than once or twice we man.

Warshered/baked/folded kitchen rags, staggeringly voluminous number man.

Dished the warsher, mandatory Saturdays man.

Warshered/baked/must fold bath towels, How Dry They Are man.

Must deduce how to get laundry basket upstairs, need all hands to drag self man.

Then de-dish cat prep zzz man.

Dilemma is which HSM (Heap Strong Medicine) for tonight, only chance all week to sleep in man.

Mornin', absent Commie- and interview-frettin' babes with appallingly underallocated reputation-point inventories!

Ah the joys of living in rented accomodation......so whilst I'm here crossing off the days awaiting our NOA2 etc the local government that own the housing round these parts have decided they need to replace all the wiring in the premises, the whole goddamn kit & caboodle of it, every last wire, fuse, socket & switch...the buildings are quite old & in need of upgrading.....why, only a year or so ago they replaced the entire heating system, which required them to have access to the crawl space under the floor....that meant I had to lift up all the laminate boards I'd had installed.....so I very carefully lifted them, numbered/coded em all on the reverse so's I could lay them all back down again afters....great.....go me.....guess what(chicken butt!) they need back down under the floor again for the rewiring....there's no way that ruddy laminate will come apart & go back together a third time(the tongue/groove parts aint built for messing around with numerous times) & the winter is on its way so bare floorboards are not an option.
After explaining the situation to the electrician that came out to survey the place we have managed to come up with a 'solution'.....it's the best we can hope for at this point in the proceedings really....at each wall socket the workmen will cut the laminate & through that immediate area of floorboard & once work is complete replace the sections of floorboards then patch over the laminate with tape. There's nothing else for it & I'll just have to put up with it until it's time to go, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later.
Attorney says to expect NOA2 any day now.

What's under the laminate?

We still have a 10 foot section of knob and tube left in our house that they forgot to replace when they upgraded our wiring a few years ago.

I really should call about that.  Nothing like 100 year old wiring to make one feel safe.  Oooo it is my house's 100 year old birthday this year.  Also, the 100 year anniversary of the 1918 flu outbreak and there have been some obituaries posted today, like this one
